There were reports he was going to interview, but not sure if it actually happened yet. Bowles is headed to Chicago right now to interview with their new GM and ownership. O ok cool, Marrone was linked to Pace that's why I asked

Ryan Pace to the Bears as GM...interesting. That guy from KC who also turned us down is left without a GM chair. Seems like everyone likes this hire by the Bears. @jayglazer: Ryan Pace is a fantastic hire by the Bears. He's been ready for years but always wanted to wait for his dream spot. Great move @jasonlacanfora: Have heard nothing but positive things for quite a while about new Bears GM Ryan Pace. Bright young executive @seniorbowlphil: Congratulations to @saints Ryan Pace on his selection as @chicagobears GM. Underrated and understated for a long time, deserves his shot.

Did Marrone interview for the Bears job? Bowles is headed to Chicago right now to interview with their new GM and ownership. I like Bowles, but I like Quinn more. As long as we get one of them, I'm happy.

Questionable move @jasonlacanfora: Have heard nothing but questionable things for quite a while about new Jets GM Ryan Pace. Inexperienced young executive @seniorbowlphil: Best of luck to @saints Ryan Pace on his selection as @nyjets GM. Overrated and overstated for a long time, doesn't deserves this shot. @mmethanydn: LOL, I'm a ghey

Pace declined any interviews or meetings with the Jets. The Jets did reach out to him.

Who wouldn't love Kirchner's personnel skills, but does he have a clue on how to manage a cap/budget, or an organization? I'm sure the Jets brass will interview them accordingly, but...saying all the right things is no substitute for true experience. You have to get experience somehow, somewhere, but...we're in a pretty vulnerable position with this next hire.
Thoughts?

Why would this be such a concern? Guys who are available with past GM experience are usually guys who fucked up in the past and got fired. And I'm not seeing the huge deal about the cap. Hire some run of the mill bean counter with a masters in accounting or some shit. Just look at Pittsburgh. Kevin Colbert is the GM who oversees the personnel moves and has final say in the draft while Omar Khan manages the cap. It's that way with tons of front offices.

@dpbrugler 9m9 minutes ago If Mike Maccagnan gets the #Jets GM job, it's the best acquisition for that franchise in years. Great eye for talent and an awesome guy

Heard that Ron Wolf took the lead in the Maccagnan 1st interview since Casserly knows him so well and came away very impressed. #nyj

I think Mike Maccagnan would be a really strong choice for the Jets GM job. Very well respected. Good eye for draft picks. @snytv
Not that Schein knows his ass from his elbow, but still...

I like Maccagnan and think it would be a good hire, I'm also warming to Quinn, where's the link and what are the chances these two want to work together?

Quinn seems to want to work with a guy with a lot of experience in personnel. He was said to want to work Paton from the Vikes, who he had no direct link with. Seems that Quinn wants to place ability above past relationships, which seems like a smart move.
