On the scroller on NFL Network....Rex signing 5-year deal at $5M+ per year. Expected staff includes OC Greg Roman from SF, DC Dunbar from Jets.
EDIT: Unconfirmed on Thurman or Dunbar.

Dollars to donuts that he hired Roman to run the goofy option/wildcat shit with Manuel.

Losing Dunbar is disappointing but expected. Good thing Quinn's specialty is DL (assuming he becomes the head coach).

Dunbar over Thurman? Ouch! Read that on the scroller. Anyone else see it? I edited the title as I haven't seen it anywhere else yet. Roman seems to be a lock for OC though.

Losing Dunbar is disappointing but expected. Good thing Quinn's specialty is DL (assuming he becomes the head coach). Not worried about losing any coach, except for probably Dunbar and maybe David Lee.
But if Quinn is the hire, he will bring his own staff and is a defensive specialist, not worried here, and especially because as mentioned he's a DL coach.
If Marrone, I would think he would bring Schwartz who will have his own staff as well.

If this is true I am happy for Dunbar. He has earned the opportunity.
Sexton really is the best agent in the biz.

Schwartz is taking the DC job Not sure this is accurate Doesn't sound that way and I'm pretty sure Rex will run a REX Defense. Sucks losing Dunbar. Only strong point of the team. Oh well. Rex is gonna fail with pathetic Offense.

Schwartz is taking the DC job Not sure this is accurate Heard the same thing earlier as well. But the scroller on NFL Network at one point said Dunbar but also included Thurman going to Buffalo with Rex. I wouldn't be surprised if Buffalo and Rex try to lock some guys up that they want (even if nobody else does) since Buffalo is the first out of the gates with a HC hire. It's a little bit of an advantage to have a lead on that front while other teams still sit without a HC.

Schwartz is taking the DC job Not sure this is accurate Schwartz and Rex are about polar opposites when it comes to defensive philosophy. I'll believe it when I see it.

Schwartz is taking the DC job Not sure this is accurate Schwartz and Rex are about polar opposites when it comes to defensive philosophy. I'll believe it when I see it. I think it was a token gesture for the Bills and Rex to indicate they want Schwartz back to be DC. I heard earlier that, statistically, Schwartz is one of the least blitzing DCs in the league and that the Jets blitzed more than just about any other team. I think Schwartz may request to interview elsewhere or an outright release from his contract......and that Rex would drive him to all those interviews in the hopes that Schwartz leaves.

Not sure Dunbar can be a coordinator
It's the same thing as suggesting Westoff, Norv Turner, or somebody like Monte Kiffin would be a good Head Coach, not sure if he would. Some guys are just coordinators, some are just good position coaches.
