There goes Calhoun and Coleman, 2 guys I liked. Nothing like following the draft for months and then this shit happens.

Completely fine with it. That is all. How man? What the hell does anyone see in Hackenberg?

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills listening to you guys hoping that we draft Hackenberg. The guy's tape is atrocious.

With the way the first episode setup, it would be extremely douchey if they didn't bring back Jon Snow. They haven't kept the carcass around as long with prior significant deaths on the series.

Couldn't care less about his wonderlic score. Marino had a 13 or 16 I believe before he was drafted. And as far as coming from a spread offense and needing to adapt...that was the exact same knock on guys like Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota. And I'd kill to have either of those fucking kids right now. Carr is already a borderline Top 10 QB two years into his career and Mariota had more 4 TD games than any rookie QB in history. Sure, but with judgment being the fundamental criticism of our last high qb draft pick (the amount of times ive read people complain Geno has "nothing between the ears"), im extra sensitive to it. Is Lynch a materially better QB than Bryce coming out of college? Because Petty won a ton of football games at Baylor, has a great arm, great intangibles...and his big obstacle is adjustment to prostyle offenses just like Lynch, only we picked him up in the fourth rd right? And i could have sworn i read the issues w lynch going beyond the wonderlic and to his performance in interviews and understanding of the game... Is Lynch a Mariotta level athlete? Ill support whoever we pick, and i am cool with developing a qb, but not sure the guys who will be there at twenty are better than the qb in waiting we have... I think Lynch is a clearly superior prospect compared to Petty. Lynch has superior athletic traits. Honestly, Petty's tape at Baylor wasn't always great (neither was Lynch's).

All this speculation about the Jets and Lynch makes me think they don't want him at all and want Hackenburg. god that would be depressing.

The sad truth is that I don't think we are going to see the QB of the future come onto the roster this year. As much as we are criticizing the Rams and Eagles, it's hard to get far without a QB.

Jets mock draft (Final) Trade - Jets trade Mo Wilkerson for Tennessee’s 2nd and 3rd round picks (the originals, not the LA ones) 1st Round - Noah Spence (OLB) (Eastern Kentucky) - I don’t think Paxton Lynch will last to 20 and, ultimately, I don’t think the Jets are going to pay the price involved to move up. I’m willing to roll the dice on Spence at 20. I know about the character concerns and the 40 time, but he was arguably the best player at the Senior Bowl, he has very good tape and he fits arguably the biggest hole on the team right now (aside from QB). draftwire.usatoday.com/2016/01/05/2016-nfl-draft-scouting-report-eastern-kentucky-edge-noah-spence/draftbreakdown.com/video/noah-spence-vs-kentucky-2015/2nd Round 1st Pick - Jason Spriggs (OT) (Indiana) - LT of the future, needs to add some strength, but that should come with age and NFL training. Had perhaps the best combine of any of the tackles. draftwire.usatoday.com/2016/01/14/2016-nfl-draft-scouting-report-indiana-ot-jason-spriggs/draftbreakdown.com/video/jason-spriggs-vs-michigan-state-2015/2nd Pick - Su’A Cravens (LB/S) (USC) - big time prep prospect who is a very instinctive player. Fits the mold of the modern NFL. Will eventually need to add a little bit of weight, but I can see him as an eventual starter at ILB. draftwire.usatoday.com/2016/02/06/2016-nfl-draft-scouting-report-usc-lbs-sua-cravens/3rd Round 1st Pick - Xavien Howard (CB) (Baylor) - with Dee Milliner showing no reliability because of his health, the Jets need another big CB to develop for the outside. Howard is a nice combo of size and athletic ability who needs to refine some of his technical skills. draftwire.usatoday.com/2016/02/16/2016-nfl-draft-scouting-report-baylor-cb-xavien-howard/2nd Pick - Cardale Jones (QB) (OSU) - If you are going to select a QB to develop, you may as well choose someone who has elite traits for the position. Jones is probably at least 2 years away, but the kid is huge, athletic and may have the best arm in the draft. He is rumored to have been well liked by his teammates and scored a 25 on the wonderlic. Jones reminds me a little bit of Daunte Culpepper. Another thing to consider is that Jones had a nice rapport with Devin Smith when both were at OSU. draftwire.usatoday.com/2016/03/23/2016-nfl-draft-scouting-report-ohio-state-qb-cardale-jones/4th Round Tyler Ervin (RB)(San Jose State) - small explosive RB. While the Jets backfield is now deep, they are in need of speed on offense and Ervin is a home run hitter. Offers special teams value as a returner as well. draftwire.usatoday.com/2016/04/11/2016-nfl-draft-scouting-report-san-jose-state-rb-tyler-ervin/7th Round Tom Hackett (P)(Utah) - uhmmm yea, we need a punter. Hackett is a 2 time Ray Guy winner. Jarron Jones (DE)((Notre Dame) - depth pick at 34 DE.

I thought they weren't releasing the wonderlic scores anymore. If the above article is true, I'm very leery of Paxton Lynch. I know other good QBs have scored lower than 18, but it's a genuine cause for concern if true.

Why in the hell would any of you want to trade up now, and give up something close to those 2 prices, to take a guy who is basically a low 1st/Early 2nd round grade in Lynch? No god damn way. With the roster make up as it is, we would have one of the worst rosters in the NFL in 3 years. Taking him at 20 is one thing, giving up multiple high end picks to take him is another. If we are going to gamble on a QB, I'd rather it be Hackenburg late in RD1/Early RD2. He has his warts, but at his best, he was better than any QB in this draft at their best. No damn way I would trade all the way up to #3 for Lynch. But if San Fran would take a trade of #20 and Mo for #7? I'd do it in a heartbeat. I just don't want to give up future 1st rounders for the kid. That is the trade I'm basically praying for.

Why will Wants/Goff/Lynch be better or even as good as Petty? You can't just waste 1st round picks every year on just whatever trash is there. Ppl say this every year with these QB and they all end up sucking. I like Petty, but the Jets would be fucking insane to count on some 4th round project as the future of the franchise. The odds of him becoming anything more than a career backup are probably less than 10%. So you're saying there's a chance!
