If you put Rosen on the Jets next year, we are going to the playoffs. The injury history scares me, but if not for that, he would be going number 1 without question. Dare to be great and take the risk.

I'm not sure what you guys are expecting them to say re Hackenberg. Do you want them to come out and say he blows?

I don't think its set in stone that the Giants are picking a QB at 2. Between Gettleman's press conference and what both Francesa and D'Atino said recently, it appears the Giants want to fix the line and make another 2 year run with Eli. so do you think they'll trade the pick for a shit ton of picks? Possibly. Let's say the Giants want to fix the tackle spot. They can get McClinchey at 6, while also picking up a second rounder and an additional first rounder next year.

Well, it's time for Macc to fix the QB situation. I never complained about winning games this year, but I don't want to hear any more excuses at this point. As far as I'm concerned, its either Sign Cousins for big money if you think he is the guy (I don't) or bring back a vet for one year (McCown is fine) and trade up into the top 3. I don't want to see what luck has in store for us at number 6. I want the team to identify who they want and to go get him. I want to trade up.

This was the fantasy I was imagining the other day. Something similar to what the Giants and Chargers did in 2004. Browns pick Rosen, Jets pick Mayfield at 6, teams swap QBs and Jets send a bunch of picks to the Browns as well.

More than anything, we need the Colts to jump the Giants so we can trade up with the former.

Maybe its wishful thinking on my part, but I'm not convinced that Rosen is a lock to go top 2. The alleged personality issues are a small part of the reason, but a bigger issue is the injury history. The guy has missed games every year in college and has a slender frame. Additionally, I still think there is an outside shot that Lamar Jackson devastates the combine and goes top 2.

I'm really warming to it as well. The kid has special skills and after watching a couple of interviews with him, I like him. He seems focused on being a football player, rather than focused on being a celebrity. In other words he is not like Cam Newton. Plus, I really think John Morton could build an offense around Jackson's skills, and as a rookie we could keep McCown as a starter and mentor and then install Lamar Jackson packages for games to slowly work him into being a pro. That way he would not have too much on his plate at one time. He is a highly underrated prospect. He is not a really raw prospect like Allen. He isn't a fully polished guy but he is accurate and can pass from the pocket. He ends up having to do everything for Louisville and so people just focus on the flash plays so they forget that he actually is a great QB overall The biggest problem for Lamar Jackson is Bobby Petrino. Petrino dials up so many designed runs for Jackson that it feeds into the narrative that he is a "running QB". Granted, Jackson is a phenomenal runner, but when the play call is a pass he has not been abandoning the pocket and taking off nearly as much as last season. OTOH, I can't blame Petrino for calling running plays for Jackson as it happens to be a very effective call. The best pro comparison I have been able to come up with for Jackson is Mariota. Jackson is a better runner and less refined as a passer, but both struggled with accuracy in the deep part of the field.

I think Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield all have the same chance of success in the NFL. It will really just depend on if Cleveland, Buffalo or another team takes them. Their careers will face a bug hurdle because Cleveland is .,.. well, Cleveland. And Buffalo's coaching staff has shown this season that they are clueless as to how to handle a QB. I would trust Morton to develop any of these guys and I do believe that Mayfield's personality fits well with Morton. On top of that, Bowles calm in-game demeanor would probably be good for Mayfield as well. But, I have a weird feeling that Lamar Jackson will end up being the pick because Mac is obsessed with measurables and potential. I'm OK with that as well.

Do any of you go to the games? This (and several others) have been great football to watch, down to the last minute. Nobody in the stands is whining about draft picks, that ship has sailed. Just a great feeling to see your team win for a change. Or even stay in the close ones and get cheated out like with the cheaters. I was there on Sunday and it was a lot of fun. I had my heart set on a top 2 pick at the start of the year, but it is what it is. I'm excited that we actually have a nice group of good young players, probably the best young nucleus we had since the 2006 & 2007 drafts. It is what it is at the end of the year. There are 4 QBs that I'd be happy with, I'm fairly confident the Jets will figure out a way to grab one of them.

In addition to a Jets loss, this week we need (conceding the #1 and #2 picks to the Browns and Niners): Bears over the Niners (Bears fall to 4-8) Bucs over Packers (Bucs to 5-7) Texans over Titans (Texans to 5-7) Colts over the Jags (Colts to 4-8) Giants over the Raiders (Gmen to 3-9) Broncos over the Dolphins (kind of a toss up, Broncos have winnable games left against the Jets, Colts and home against the Chiefs; Dolphins have winnable games against the Bills (home and away) and the Chiefs) If all this happens we could conceivably move up to the #4 spot depending on strength of schedule although think the broncos, and colts have a big SOS lead on us. My fear is that Garappolo plays and plays well and wins a game or 2 and the Giants move up.
_ That's definitely happening now that Geno is at the helm. People can criticize the Giants, but in the long term, they are going to walk out of this draft with a franchise QB and we will miss out on one because we had to play McCown all year to save Bowles' job.

Again, I'm fine with one of Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield or Jackson. I think with proper coaching, you can win with any of those kids.
