Dunnno - Trestman looked lost on the sidelines - didn't look engaged with the players, like he had respect from any of them. How old is the dude now anyway? 59 years old next season. I think Bill Walsh's coat-tails left a long time ago. He strikes me as uninspired at this point. In what way do you see him as uninspired? As a head coach? Because Norv Turner, Wade Phillips, Todd Haley, Jim Schwartz, Scott Linehan etc...they were all uninspiring head coaches but they are very good coordinators.

He is actually a pretty good offensive coordinator and I would take him in a heartbeat. He seems to have that magic touch with QB's...here is his history:
His promotion to offensive coordinator in 1989 was made before the team named Bud Carson as Marty Schottenheimer's successor as head coach.[6] Kosar passed for 3,533 yards and 18 TDs that season, while wide receiver Webster Slaughter had a franchise record 1,236 receiving yards. Trestman was dismissed after the Browns' third loss in the AFC Championship game in four years, primarily due to his strained relationship with Carson.[6]
In 1990, Trestman returned to Minnesota as quarterbacks coach for the Vikings. He spent two years there and then left coaching for three years, and worked in the municipal bond sale during that timespan.[5]
He returned to the NFL in 1995 as quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator with San Francisco, where he served in that capacity through 1996. The first year he was in San Francisco, the team led the NFL with 457 points scored, 644 pass attempts and 4,779 passing yards.
Trestman joined the Detroit Lions as quarterbacks coach in 1997. That year Lions quarterback Scott Mitchell passed for 3,484 yards, fourth most in team history.
In 1998 he was with the Arizona Cardinals as quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. That year quarterback Jake Plummer threw for 3,737 yards, and the Cardinals made the playoffs for the first time since 1982 and won their first post season game in 51 years.
He next went to the Oakland Raiders in 2001 as the quarterbacks coach. In 2002 he was promoted to offensive coordinator and the Raiders led the NFL in total offense with 389.8 yards per game and passing yards with 279.7 per game. Under Trestman's guidance, Raiders QB Rich Gannon won the 2002 NFL MVP award as the Raiders reached Super Bowl XXXVII, losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Lets not forget he also made McCown look like Joe Montana...Jay Cutler also had a pretty good season until he shit the bed in 2014.

LOL at all the Idzik ball washers taking a shit on Mike T. The guy put the most successful Jets team together since the SB and people still can't give the guy credit. Yeah, he made mistakes, all GMs do. He mortgaged our future for a two year window. It doesn't take some kind of brilliant football mind to do that shit. You also don't have to be some kind of "football czar" to throw big money deals at veteran, established pro-bowlers like Alan Faneca, Damien Woody, or Kris Jenkins. Not to mention that the guys track record after we fired Mangini was absolute dogshit. Letting go of Cotchery in favor of Plaxico Burress/Derrick Mason? Giving Sanchez a big extension after a season in which he turned the ball over a league high 28 times? Paying Santonio Holmes over $10 million a year? Trading a 4th round pick for Tebow and bringing the circus to town when your trusted head of scouting was banging the table for Russell Wilson? The guy was a fucking mo-mo and I wish Miami all the worst. I think it was actually a 6th rounder as well.

She's the one on the right I believe. Nice. I'd be willing to suffer through a few more losing seasons to see her and her hot friends out and about in the NYC area. Damn!

If we miss out on McCloughan as GM, then oh well. I'd prefer to hire him as the head scout/head of personnel anyway. It's not like the guy was flawless in San Fran as GM. His first draft as GM in San Fran: 1st round: DL Kentwan Balmer - UNC 2nd round: OG Chilo Rachal - USC 3rd round: CB Reggie Smith - Oklahoma 4th round: C Cody Wallace - Texas A&M 6th round: WR Josh Morgan - Virginia Tech 7th round: LB Larry Grant - Ohio State Jets fans would be rolling out the "Fire McCloughan" billboards and banners in no time if we had a draft like this during his first year. They would need a wider billboard and spellcheck...

Woody needs to move on this asap! Yes, the Redskins have been dysfunctional for the past 2 decades. Having said that, it is a storied franchise that is attractive despite DS. Let's be objective. I hate the Skins as much as anyone here. But when the team owns DC even with their lousy record the past 20 years. Wody needs to give the keys to the franchise to Scott. Talent wins in the NFL and Scott knows talent -- just look at his past performances. I live in the area and I think most of the fans here are livid with Dan Snyder and the state of their team. I do not know about it being a storied franchise although they did have their moments. But as long as Dan Snyder is around there will be a lot of question marks with the direction of this team. Mcloughlin would be a good get, I would love for him to get swiped up by the jets...but as a VP of player personnel and Scouting director. That's where his strength lies. His other options are the Raiders to work with MacKenzie which he won't do and if he goes to the redskins, Allen will have the final say on player personnel so it comes down to which franchise would be better to work with.

Yeah, and apparently he is Quinn's agent... Here it starts... All the qualified guys go off to asshole of america shit teams and we get stuck with the worst asshole losers left, just like Idzik. Fuck this day If Tannenbaum becomes VP of Miami's football operations, I'm pretty sure he has to give up being an agent, that creates a conflict of interest.
I hear that he did relinquish his duties here is the article....http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/01/mike_tannenbaum_no_longer_agent_for_jets_coaching_candidate_dan_quinn_per_reports.html

I am seriously trying to bite my tongue (control my typing) but I am seeing an increasing likelihood that there is no way we upgrade the head coach position from 2014 to 2015. If Quinn is now turning sour on the Jets because of either Tannenbaum or Carroll, Marrone did not interview well, and Bowles may be leaning towards Atlanta or Chicago, then we are clearly heading towards tier 2 and tier 3 candidates for HC. I think we are going to look back and realize that we fired a guy we simply got tired of, and we had to fire in order to get a high-quality GM. If we do not end up with an excellent GM or a coach that is at least on par with Rex Ryan, this off-season will once again be a colossal fuck up. I am not trying to jump the gun but we have to look forward at some possible outcomes here. I think you are def jumping the gun. Let things play out in a couple of days here then you can stew.

Tanny is Quinn's representative, and WILL represent him during contract negotiations if he's offered a HC job. Call me crazy, but why in the world would Tanny recommend the Jets to his client. Do you think for one minute he wants to face his own client twice a year. This is fucked up.....Truly, this shit only happens to the F-ing Jets If Quinn wants to come to the jets, and the jets want him, Tanny won't stand in the way. An agent is supposed to represent his clients best interests... Not their own Well said my friend.
