This will surely result in two things: 1. Reducing Brady's per-game salary next season, to minimize the money he'll lose if the Deflategate suspension is restored ( link). If they could, the Patriots would surely structure Brady's contract to pay him 1 dollar for the first 4 games, and spread the rest of his 2016 salary over the other 12 games. 2. An increase in the revenue stream sent from the Patriots to a "medical treatment" company owned by Brady ( link)

LT still butt hurt over the many ass whoopings. Like the one in the playoffs in 2011?

We threw Sanchez and Geno to the wolves right away and they will probably never be competent NFL QBs. Chad Pennington had a couple of years to watch and learn and he was great when finally given a chance (before his arm fell off). I'm sure there were other factors that went into it, but I'm all for taking the patient approach with Petty, particularly as he learns behind a smart and willing mentor like Fitz.

once the ravens and colts ratted out the pats, and the massive mountain of pats' cheating scandals got even larger, goodell and the nfl had to deflate that fucking ball or it would eventually explode. kraft, goodell, the investigators....all in it together. had to make it look like the nfl was getting tough on the cheaters, but in the end that's all it did, "look like" it was getting tough on the cheaters. at the end of the day kraft spends a few bucks and a draft pick to "win" and clumsily try to wipe off the tarnish of his team's legacy. and continue cheating. goodell gladly trades his dignity and reputation to keep collecting $13 million per year and flying around on private jets to first-class parties. it was all a fucking scam and its business as usual for the multibillion dollar nfl and its golden goose, the cheating pats. you don't think it be like it is but it do. I absolutely believe you're right. The obvious mistakes that were made during the NFL's investigation, which Brady's team could point to during their appeal. The NFL not even asking to speak to "The Deflator" during the appeal process. The list goes on. It all seems very contrived to achieve just the effect you describe - making the NFL look tough on cheating while really just letting the Pats off with another slap on the wrist. It's not a coincidence that the bulk of the NFL's appeal hearings will take place during the offseason again - drumming up interest in the NFL during the slow news period. It's all very WWE.

At the end of the day though, what price have the Patriots had to pay for all of the cheating? Money that was a pittance to everyone who was fined? Some draft picks that they can do without (not being the best drafters anyway)? Their reputation has taken a hit, but with nothing so definitive that they and their Kool-Aid drinking fans can't deny it. Even the articles today, although I have no doubt that most or all of what they detail is true, are all referenced to "unnamed sources" and hearsay with no smoking gun and no cost to the cheaters. Do you think they believe that the small headaches that resulted from their cheating were worth it to win 4 championships?
All of this "sound and fury, signifying nothing" is starting to reek of contrivance to me. Months of headlines during the Super Bowl and the slow news season for the NFL. More dirt comes out 2 days before the big Opening Night, but Brady still gets to play after getting a last-minute reprieve. Pro wrestling discovered years ago that building up a villain can equal big ratings. It looks like the NFL media machine may be coming to that conclusion themselves.

Roma Pizza in Tuckahoe. We moved out to AZ 5 years ago, and there's nothing like it here. When my wife and I came back to the Northeast last year, it was the first placed we stopped, with our luggage still in the car.

This isn't really the time of the year where impact players can be acquired. There may be some decent players released during final cuts, and if Maccagnan thinks that there's somebody out there who's better than what we have at RB at LB, I'm sure he won't hesitate to pick them up if possible - whether they're fast or not. However, we now have pretty good depth at RB and LB, particularly RB, and it's unlikely that a speedy player will come free who's significantly better than Zac Stacy or Stevan Ridley. I don't think the Saints will be releasing CJ Spiller.
Let's revisit this next offseason.

I love watching this video every once in a while. The clips of Klecko tossing RBs, QBs and O-lineman around like rag dolls really get me fired up. You don't see that kind of stuff anymore. The veteran committee better step up and finally make him a HOFer in 2016!

Can you say "Pete Kendall"? This would be a solid move, but there are teams with more of a need at Guard and more cap space, so I'm not getting my hopes up yet.

This will be the usual deal with the Patriots - plausible deniability with no admission of guilt, followed by righteous indignation that they're being persecuted by jealous haters. Belidick will claim that no discipline was handed out to Butler. He'll say that Butler is a known commodity and since they've had a lot of turnover at that position, he needed to evaluate the other, newer, players on the field (that excuse was all planned out before Butler arrived in Foxboro). Because it's obvious that Belidick is lying, they'll have some practice time taken away from them next Spring, and everyone in Cheatsville will cry that they're getting "singled out" again because of their unprecedented success in the salary cap era and all of the former Jets employees that now work in the league office.

Mo would probably be better served by playing this season without complaint instead of trying to get his long-term contract now. He missed 3 games last year and only had 5.5 sacks. With better health, a much improved secondary, and Leonard Williams as the first d-lineman off the bench this season, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Mo in double-digit sacks again -- which would increase his value in negotiations dramatically. At this point, the 10.5 sacks he had in 2013 looks like the outlier in his career so far.

Theyre a delusional group. Its not the Pats fault for getting caught cheating, its those pricks the Colts for ratting them out. For not just letting the Pats cheat. Like it was Mangini and the Jets who were to blame for Spygate. So, I guess that tampering charge against Woody For his comments about Revis (you know, the one that was going to award the 6th pick in this year's draft to the Patriots) just filed itself?

Wow. You are a cruel man. Good job coming up with a trade that would be great for us, but still plausible.

If this story is legitimate, then we end up with an amazing situation no matter how the first 5 picks fall. I've been a little worried because I consider there to be 5 elite picks this year (Winston, Williams, Mariota, Fowler, and Cooper), and of course we have the 6th pick. If this trade really is in place, it means that either one of those 5 falls to us, or we get this sweet deal. After the first 5, I don't see a big gap in value between the next 6-7 players. We'd get an extra mid-round pick, a former first-round WR with just the skill set we need plus a history with our QB, and still be guaranteed to get Beasley, Dupree, Gurley, Peat, or Scherff anyway. It would be like getting the mid-round pick and Austin for nothing! If this is true, it's boner-pants time!
