Maybe they'll rotate him with Slauson again.

Son of a mother, was hoping we would pick him up. So was I, but we're at a disadvantage in trying to nab one of the remaining WRs. We have clear #1 and #2 receivers. The best we can offer is a chance to compete for the 3rd spot. There are still teams out there (and the Texans were one of them) who can offer a chance at a starting WR position.

Cecil Shorts off the board, darn. Was kind of hoping we'd get him. Don't really want Stevie Johnson.

Updated to include Colon contract. I'm a little confused by this one. I thought base salary counted fully against the cap? It says his base salary is $870K but cap hit is $585K. How's that possible? Also, the overall cap only went down by $100K. I'm assuming someone was released? There is a provision that allows a veteran's minimum salary to count less against the cap: www.spotrac.com/blog/nfl-minimum-salaries-for-2015-and-the-veteran-cap-benefit-rule/

Schefter: Patriots feel Revis likely a jet Yep. what will the flats fags say now?? still the GOAT like he was 2 weeks ago??? He'll still be the GOAT while they whine about tampering. After the decision on that comes down, he'll be old and washed up.

He's actually a damn good nickel with the ability to play outside in a pinch. Gone are the days of Kyle Burnt Toast Wilson. Praise Jebus Skrine wants to be a #2 CB, and if he's signing with a team it will be in that role for #2 CB money. In nickel situations, I can see him sliding inside to the slot and Milliner coming in to handle an outside receiver.

On SportsCenter, John Clayton said that Iupati "picked Arizona over the Jets", suggesting that we finished in 2nd place for him. I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse.

Maybe the Jets felt a need to be on their best behavior - since we already have one (stupid) tampering charge filed against us.

So BB and TB have, for years, been staking their entire careers on a middle-aged dude from Amherst, NH to run in and out of bathrooms and onto the field deflating and inflating various balls depending on the situation and hoping nobody figures out what the fuck he's doing. Nice exaggeration. Belidick is the type of tactician who believes that if there are 100 ways to get an advantage over the opponent, big or small, you do all 100 and hope that, collectively, they make the difference. You don't cut corners, you do all 100. Spygate shows that he doesn't take items off the list if they're not within the rules, nor does he take an item off the list if it only provides a small advantage in and of itself. Do you need to be reminded of the "Schmuck" story that Kraft tells about Belidick and the advantage gained by Spygate?

If that is really the narrative the league is trying to spin here, why bother getting everyone worked up into a lather in the first place? Why not just bury the deflated football story next to the ashes of the burned Spygate tapes the day after the Colts game? You answered your own question. "Everyone worked up into a lather" = hype = ratings = $. Is that really a stretch? The NFL probably didn't expect this story to blow up like it has (who did?), but once it happened, why not take advantage of it?

What's the common thread with these stories that were reported today - on Super Bowl Sunday (hints in parenthesis):
1. The Falcons will likely be penalized for generating artificial crowd noise while the visiting team was on offense (See, teams other than the Pats cheat too!)
2. The Jets are very interested in signing Revis if he becomes a free agent (So, Woody Johnson really was tampering with a Patriots player! Throw the book at the Jets!)
3. Only one of the Patriots' AFC Championship Game Balls was significantly deflated (Then it really was just natural causes. The Patriots are innocent! And the guy who disappeared with the game balls was just an old man who couldn't control his bladder.)
i guess Goodell will be apologizing to Kraft right after he hands him the Lombardi Trophy later today. I'm going to be sick.

Can anyone name this former Jet? (Rep given for the first correct answer) One hint: He still holds a team record of some kind. Rob Moore?

They prob did tamper, it's the Deflatriot*** way Their HC was brought in by tampering. The cheating started from the top when Kraft offered Bellichich the keys to the city while he was under contract with the Jets. I'm never surprised by a cheating allegation aimed at the Flats* The problem is that the Patriots cheat in significant ways, but are smart enough to cover their tracks fairly well. Our owner blunders by breaking the rules in a minor way and unintentionally - but in front of the whole world at a press conference.
