To me the big difference between McCown and Fitz is that Fitz had a gunslinger's mentality with a game manager's arm. At least McCown knows what he is and has not tried to do too much. Makes for some boring offense - lets face it, without the two big runs last week, we just managed a few FGs. But its nice to be the team pulling off the big plays this year -- last season they all seemed to go against us. Or maybe the big plays suck because of the tank and everything. This team confuses me as a fan this year. As to who is better, I don't know -- does it really matter if you are the 25th best QB in the NFL or 31st. Either way, they are both bottom tier QBs who can give you stretches of competent play. They have both had some good years and some bad. McCown looks like a better fit for a young team since he appears to be likely to take care of the ball better and make better decisions. Adding Vinny to the equation -- he had the gunslinger's mentality and the gunslinger's arm, but lacked consistency throughout his career. But when he put together his competent stretches, they could be brilliant unlike the other two guys. And in 1998, he was brilliant. McCown is not getting to that level. McCown at least keeps a defence honest because he has the arm to hurt you...Fitz made the offence one dimensional, boring and predictable. Hated the man with every fibre of my being.

I hated Fitz but at least McClown can push the ball 15 yards down field. And he's more accurate. Don't get me wrong, they're both below average, but I do think that McCown is better. The only difference is that McCown has only been the starting QB on teams that know they are going to suck, while Fits gets his Witch Doctor to put an injury hex on the starter when he is the back-up on a half-way decent team. From what I've seen, without question I'd take McCown as my second string QB over Fits. Imagine the gush if Marshall was here with Josh.

DI MUHAMMAD WILKERSON, 36.4 OVERALL GRADE Wilkerson has been toiling of late, and his effort was particularly questionable against the Jaguars. He appeared unwilling to battle double teams, regularly finding himself blown off the ball. As a pass-rusher he managed just the solitary hurry, taking his season total to 7 hurries, 0 hits and 0 sacks on the year. got paid gotta save energy for the next contract year He's a Muslim, what did we expect?

Good post but surely the development of young players on the practice field and team chemistry is down to good coaching?
I'm starting to think the Bowles we see on the sideline and in the media is a complete different animal to the man the players see.

^^ This. He stinks. He has a huge leg but it's a 50/50 bomb or shank at this point. That doesn't get it done. He usually chokes in those situations too. He finally got a good one away in a pressure situation. And let's not kid oursleves, the 70 yarder was a 45-50 yarder, muffed catch with a 20 yard bounce. He's a massive upgrade on Quigley that's all I'll say.

Same plan as we've always had. Continue mediocrity for the next few decades at a minimum. Jets repulsion drop the fuckin act we know it's you.
