I'm pretty sure you need more than a handful of games as a third-string backup before you decide to declare for the draft.
Regardless, he'll be playing on Sundays down the line. Strong arm, fast and powerful runner. Good downfield vision and accuracy. Another year under Urban and another NC shot and he'll definitely be first-round talent in 2015.

Quinn and Bowles are both really good, I have no problems with either.

Last night's game showed that Mariota is far from NFL ready. Ohio's defense the closest thing to a NFL defense exposed that he is far from a sure thing in the NFL. If he falls even then you have to really think about it.When I read tripe like the link below it scares me that Woody might be dumb enough to force MM to do it to sell PSL. nypost.com/2015/01/12/next-jets-gm-must-prove-hes-not-idzik-by-getting-mariota/Here we go again with the conspiracy that Woody only cares about selling PSL's. Tired argument.

I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to come here. New GM Lame owner No QB No WR's No CB's Insane media market Incredibly stupid post. Only valid points you have are QB and CB, which can be still be addressed quickly via the draft and FA. Otherwise, if you can't handle the media, you probably don't have the thick skin necessary to win a Super Bowl in any city, let alone NY. Not to mention that Woody is nowhere near as bad as thie board paints him as. Say what you will, but at least Woody is willing to spend money and is finally outsourcing smart football guys to run the organization. Would you prefer the Wilpons?

Why would the Jets job be deemed undesirable? It's NYC, there's a 6th overall pick, you have a boatload of money to work with, and a smart new GM that has a good track record of drafting and evaluating talent. Doesn't sound too shabby to me.

And what the hell is wrong with Jet fans? They are passionate, so what?

LMAO @ THAT COSBY PIC
Wrong, just wrong.
Anyways, assuming NE makes it to the SB, Seattle will destroy them. Kam Chancellor will knock Gronk out in the first quarter and Brady's ass is going to be on the ground at least 3-4 times in the first half alone.
NE has a good secondary, but they won't be able to stop Beast Mode on the ground. That will open up some passing lanes underneath for Wilson and should be just enough to score points.

This is a great move by Woody/Wolf/Casserly. Bowles was impressive in his interview and if the falcons bite then we have one less suitor for Quinn. Indeed. It not only keeps our pipline full in case Quinn doesn't work out, but it drives up demand for Bowles, thus making it more likely that Atlanta makes a panic move and grabs him only to leave Quinn to the Jets.

Manning would make a great analyst. He's smart and has a dry wit that would make him good for a color commentary role.
Or he can just retire on a personal island with the buttload of money he's made over the years.

Losing Dunbar isn't great, but it's not insurmountable, either. Wilkerson, Sheldon, Coples were all 1st round picks and would have been successful with or without Dunbar. I think the only player we can really credit Dunbar for is Damon Harrison. That was a classic case of taking a no-name and turning him into a solid player.

Of all the positions in major sports, which one would you say is most instrumental to a team's performance on the field? Would you say it's the QB in football, or should we also consider a goalie from hockey, pitcher in baseball, etc. ?

It seems that pro sports in general are becoming increasingly dependent on one or a small handful of players. In the NHL, you can make a deep playoff run with a crap team, so long as you have a top goalie. In basketball, it's almost impossible to win a title unless you have 2-3 megastars, now that super teams are the norm. In football, it's obvious that the QB is what matters most, although you can occasionally win with a top defense and game manager QB.
It seems that baseball is the lone exception, since you still need a combination of both good pitching and a halfway decent lineup to make a WS run. It's the least individualized sport out there, although you still need at least 2-3 above-average starters to even have a shot.

I don't give two shits about having to wait an extra 12 days to hire Quinn. The Pats*** are going to be playing in the Superbowl and Seattle has the best chance of not just beating them, but flatout embarrassing them. I'll trust Seattle to take care of business against the Pats* with a defense that is constantly looking to take someones fucking head off and a clutch young QB heading the offense over a soft Packers D with a hobbled Aaron Rodgers leading the way. LOL you really don't think the Colts have any shot at beating NE next week? What a clown.
