I'm 10000x more jacked about watching football saturdays over sundays this fall. That's me every fall. My interest and enthusiasm for the college game has always been 1000000x that for the pro game.

I need to see a full year of outstanding play from Darnold. I need to see that Rosen has matured, his arm is stronger than I think and he's durable. I need to see Allen be more accurate and more secure with the ball. I actually need to see Rudolph play. And I need Falk to convince me he's NOT the guy because I think he is. I have no use for Jackson. To me he's a skinnier better non-douchebag version of Geno. Going to watch a lot of college ball this year. _ agree with just about everything you said there, literally word for word... except the Jackson slam. I think he's one of the few "athlete first" QBs who actually stands a chance to become NFL QB. I see more Cam than Geno in his game. he's an underrated passer... but i'd like to see his overall command of the offense take a step forward this year before taking him seriously as franchise possibility. I'm not so sure about the Cam comparisons regarding Jackson. Obviously there is a huge size difference between the two which when you project to the NFL is a big deal. I don't think Jackson has the arm or the ability to beat you from the pocket like Cam has. I see WAY more RGIII than I do Cam in Jackson.

True. But what if Harris or Decker got hurt in OTAs or TC and then had to pay their whole salary? You make a valid argument, but I can see why they abruptly made this choice. Fair point. Also, I find the timing of the Decker announcement to be curious. Coming right after we release Harris. Makes me wonder if the request for trade or release may have come from Decker's camp. I'm sure they weren't very high on the prospects of playing this year out with the Jets. Had Decker not been injured I think they would have tried moving him pre draft.

The drafting has been arguably worse. I'm going to post something on it tonight. It's simple, if you don't draft well it is exponentially harder to have success in this league. It's safe to say that the Jets haven't drafted well in the past decade.

Is this the worst roster in a decade? Maybe. What makes it look so bad is that if you take the 3 most important positions, QB, Edge rusher and LT, the Jets have nothing there. Combine that with an offense that really doesn't have any playmakers that worry defensive coordinators.
The roster is bad but, it needed to be stripped down to nothing to facilitate the rebuild. The problem isnt cutting all the older vets, it's the lack of blue chip younger players on this team. You look at all of those first round defensive players selected and what do you really have? Nevermind the fact that with all those first round defensive picks, they ignored the most important position on defense, edge rusher. It's almost comical how they have ignored that position, not only in the first round, but in the draft in general.
When you continually miss in the top 3 rounds of the draft it kills your roster. It forces you to sign free agents that you really shouldn't have to. All of this should have been done day 1 when Maccagnan took the job. That whole spending spree In year one was a total waste, just delayed the invetible by two years.
So until this team finds a QB and drafts MUCH better, nothing will change.

How the fuck is Sheldon still on the team? I'm all for going full tank, but why even keep Sheldon on at this point? My guess is that Macc expected to trade him at the draft and could not find any takers. With his $8 million salary fully guaranteed, there is nothing to be gained at this point by cutting him. Maybe we can still get a pick back for him -- possibly in season before the deadline. Maybe a desperate team that gets hit with some D line injuries in training camp makes an offer.

I can't imagine Hack doesn't get the gig. You have to play him at some point. What's the difference at this point? Even if he is epically bad, so what? You are drafting your future QB next year anyway. Bowles is going with the "Best chance to win" and sadly that is McCown. Mac won't let him. Not now.

I think that's been the plan all along. I don't believe they ever intend to start McCown. Disagree. McCown will be the starter and yet again I don't think Hack takes a snap unless there are injuries. I can't imagine Hack doesn't get the gig. You have to play him at some point. What's the difference at this point? Even if he is epically bad, so what? Absolutely no reason to not just throw Hack to the wolves Week 1 at this point. Let him either sink or swim This team isn't winning more than 3 games anyway. I think that's been the plan all along. I don't believe they ever intend to start McCown.

That's why I am scouting the 2021 class of QBs already...Lol And I'm the broken one? Haha Haha...love projecting a QB who is a junior in high school to be a franchise NFL QB.

Not just losses but complete anarchy in the locker room. So you're saying there is a good chance they get canned. Let's see if we can top last year when the team quit on Bowles early in the season and he didn't do shit about it. I think Bowles has a much better chance of being fired than Mac. These are Macs decisions being made so I think he feels very safe. Who knows though, it's going to be ugly regardless.

I have to beleive Woody has told them they are safe next year. Otherwise they are just hanging themselves for no reason. That's my biggest fear. My only hope is Woody pulls off another knee jerk reaction after the season and sends these two losers packing. He's already done it several times where he assured a coach they were coming back and then shitcanned them, so there is precedent.....and at least a little hope for us fans. Things would have to go really off the rails for them to not come back. Not just losses but complete anarchy in the locker room.

The Jets have made me such a pessimist. I got excited thinking that we might out tank the Browns, but then it hit me. With the Jets luck we'll beat them on a blown coverage by Pryor. Browns go 0-16, we go 1-15. They draft the next Peyton Manning, and we draft the next Ryan Leaf. It's our history so it shouldn't be a surprise when it happens. We're already closing in on 50 years of futility. That's why I am scouting the 2021 class of QBs already...Lol

Agreed. People wanted a rebuild, THIS is what a real rebuild looks like. With carry over cap money the Jets should have around 75 million in cap space next year. I partially disagree. The emphasis has been on the "re" but not the "build." You can dump salary and old guys but you still need veteran leadership to build up the young guys. If you want guys like WRs Steward and Hansen to be ready for leading roles in 2018 or 2019 who is going to show them that? Jalin Marshall? Charone Peake? I like Enunwa but he's still a young pup too. Harris and Decker were both good character guys with leadership and mentoring ability. I would have held on to both of them in a rebuilding year with the emphasis on building towards the future. It's the same reason we have McCown and not Jay Cutler and Colin Kaepernick. We want mentors and leaders that would hopefully allow guys like Darron Lee, Stewart, Hansen, Petty, Hack to learn something. I'm all in on the rebuild. (See my sig) But these moves IMO hurt the potential for the team to be better in 2018 and 2019. Just my two cents. "Mentoring" is such an overblown crock of shit. Means nothing. Let the coaches do their jobs and if a kid can play, he will be a player regardless if some vet is there or not.

I just hope Mac and Bowles are not the two people who will be conducting the rebuild. I'm hoping neither of them survives after this season.
