We knew he was a shitty safety, but looks like he is a shitbag of a teammate as well. Goddamn that was a horrid draft.

Also, Ronald Jones, USC RB is really good. Watch that kid run, he's legit.

That was some performance by Rosen. As others have noted, he was getting killed all night back there and still hung in there, UCLA was also implementing a new offense which led to a lot of the mis-communications on the O line IMO. Also, Sumlin should be shown the door ASAP. That was as bad of a coaching job as you can get right there. If Rosen builds off this win and stays healthy all year he will be in that top 2 discussion all year. It still amazes me though how Mora can not recruit better offensive talent at UCLA. USC kills them every year in the recruiting battle of L.A. Anyway, when it is all said and done I think this is going to be a similar situation as the Winston/Mariota year. A clear 1 and 2 and then a drop off to the next 3 guys.

If you took all the top guys and evaluated where they are today, Allen is the worst one. He also has the highest upside. His development this year is going to be intriguing. He could wind up the #1 overall pick or fall out of the first round altogether. I dunno, if we're talking highest upside -- I think Lamar and Rosen have Allen dead to rights. Allen has godly arm talent, but that's... about it? I have seen enough development from the rest of his game. He could easily tumble to round 3 with another inconsistent year. I'm going to boldly predict that we'll break the record next april with 7 QBs in round 1 NYJ - Sam Darnold SF/WSH - Josh Rosen CLE - Luke Falk JAX - Lamar Jackson PIT - Riley Ferguson BAL - Mason Rudolph ARZ - Josh Allen Not sure if he will crack the first round but, Nick Fitzgerald from Miss. State could easily go in the second round, maybe late 1 depending on who declares.

I am not the least bit surprised that McCown was named the starter and, as much as most of us hate it, Bowles cannot look at the veterans on the team and say, with a straight face, that Petty or Hack give the team the best chance to win. Bowles job is to win games whether we like it or not. It's probably going to cost him his job because, even with McCown, we are not winning more than 2-3 games this year. McCown (and Petty) are also both pretty injury prone, so we are bound to start Hack at some point. The minute Hack starts games, we are losing out for the remainder of the season because he is utter dogshit. Jax and Miami at home are pivotal games because I can conceptually see the Jets winning those games. If we lose those 2 games, we could enter week 6 at 0-5. We are picking top 3 next year guys. The only team that schares me is San Francisco, they may actually be worse. Jets need to be drafting 1 or 2 next year to realistically have a shot at the QB they want. San Fran and Buffalo both have WAY more ammo to trade up if need be, the Jets can't allow themselves to draft behind both of those two teams.

A sad commentary on the state of other QBs on the team that a guy with 9 snaps wins the job. SAD! Even sadder when you consider that the guy who is 2-20 over the last 3 years "gives us the best chance to win". It doesn't get much worse than having a 38 year old washed up career back up QB starting the season. There really isn't anything worth watching this season, why should any Jet fan waste any energy following this team this year? It's hands down the worst offensive roster in the league, and it isn't even close. Draft position and who the new HC and GM will be should be the only relevant topics going forward.

Not sure if anyone gives a shit this year, but we are just about two months from the Opener against Buffalo. Since this season seems to be more about the player we will take in the upcoming college draft, I decided to try to do a college-themed countdown this year. We are 61 days from the start of the season. And, with the 61st pick in the 1978 NFL draft, the Jets chose Mickey Shuler, TE, Penn State. I'm pretty sure that's Shuler's son.

Considering our WR cupboard is fucking bare bones.... actually i feel like going a total meltdown tangent on the topic in the near future. How the fuck does this franchise have the WORST receiving corp EVER exactly 3 years after have the WORST receiver corps EVER?... seriously? WE paid Decker to hold the fort down and 3-4 years later our top 2 are Enunwa and Anderson.. What the fuck donnie. *sigh* AnywayThese 3 St. Brown kids sound like future superstars. Bets that end up with none of them? Its very simple, they haven't drafted a legit WR prospect since when? Santana Moss?? When you continuously shop in the bargain basement of rounds 5-7 for your receivers, this is what happens.

At this point there is zero harm to bring him in. He probably becomes the Jets #2 or 3 receiver. If he has any motivation remaining to be an NFL player then he needs to realize this could be his last chance. If he doesn't then cut him. Not a huge deal.

I was on another board at the time and I was screaming for Carr or Teddy. That mirage of Geno's last few games the year before convinced that dumb fuck Idzik we didn't need a franchise QB. _ I wasn't nearly as high on Bridgewater, thought he was being overrated and never thought he deserved to be taken at the top of the draft. What makes it even worse is that Calvin Pryor was the pick at 18. In an incredibly deep draft, where there are Pro Bowl players up and down that first round, the Jets managed to find themselves one of the 3 worst picks in that first round.

Interesting. The team I root for (the NY Jets) still needs a QB. How did Oakland get this guy? Was he taken before the Jets, who are in DIRE need of a QB, drafted? Don't even get me started. _ Yup, just a little reminder from the past so people don't think this is all revisionist history regarding Carr. www.jetsinsider.com/forums/threads/263099-Derek-Carr-at-18

Currently there is nothing to glue together, so the future "glue" isn't here yet. Except Adams, he should be the defensive glue, but we'll see.

True...Lol. But you have Tommy Devito to the rescue. You will love this kid when he hits campus in a few weeks. Can't wait. Bosco is about a quarter mile from my house, know a bunch of kids (and parents) that went there. I could see them redshirting him though, Eric Dungey has played really well for us when healthy but he's always hurt. _ I could see that. Plus I think Tommy needs a year of good strength and conditioning to really be ready. Regardless, he is the best QB prospect Cuse has enrolled in a long time. Dungey gets hurt just reading the playbook, hopefully an early injury to him doesn't force them into playing DeVito too early.

That's me every fall. My interest and enthusiasm for the college game has always been 1000000x that for the pro game. Well yeah, you're a Clemson fan! Can you imagine being a Cuse fan?!? I was up at the Dome visiting my sopne when Tahj Boyd takes us for about 500 yards. That game excited me for when we drafted him. _ True...Lol. But you have Tommy Devito to the rescue.
