comparing Spiller to McCoy is laughable imho, McCoy has doubled his production and runs like he is playing in a Madden game. He is an NFL star and paid accordingly, Spiller is a talented role player No one is saying they are equal.

Whats funny is that they could have probably worked out a deal with Spiller that would cost them half as much as McCoy is going to cost them. Is McCoy really worth double what Spiller is right now? I don't think so. I think you could argue that Spiller is just as much of a gamebreaker as McCoy when healthy. And I think McCoy will soon realize that he no longer has the likes of Jason Peters, Evan Mathis, Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson paving the way. It was just a horrendous trade on value alone.

This trade was so good for Eagles. First they got rid of McCoy who was going to make 10.5 M this year and second, Alonso allowed them to cut Trent Cole who they were not having any success in trying to negotiate a restructure. Saves them 17 million in cap space, and you have one of deepest RB classes we have seen in a while. Exactly If Alonso is healthy, then he's a true building block for a defense. McCoy might put up a couple of 1200 yard seasons over the next 3-4 years, but I'll take the impact defender with a knack for making the big play. And as you said, this is one of the deepest RB classes in recent memory. The Eagles can take a Gordon or Gurley at #20 or pick up someone like Abdullah in the 2nd, plug them into Chip's system right away and not lose a beat. Whats funny is that they could have probably worked out a deal with Spiller that would cost them half as much as McCoy is going to cost them. Is McCoy really worth double what Spiller is right now? I don't think so.

Looking more and more like he will use all his draft picks to get Mariota Very possible. And quite frankly, I wouldn't mind if he trades ahead of the Jets to do that (since it would push another guy like Fowler or Kevin White down to us) or if he traded WITH us to get to #6 and we traded back to get the Eagles 1st, 2nd, 3rd this year and a 1st or 2nd next year. If Kelly uses FA to acquire a large number of players and fill out his roster then it could definitely be the case that he's planning to only draft a couple of players as he trades up. At minimum you need the Eagles 1st, 2nd, 3rd this year and the Eagles 1st next year. You need at minimum two firsts from that deal. Dropping from 6 to 20 is a huge drop in the first, add in the fact that the Eagles are targeting a franchise type QB which increases the value, you have to make the Eagles overpay for that trade. There is no way the Jets could pass on Mariotta with their QB situation and justify trading him away unless they get well above market value for doing so. I take the Eagles 1st, 2nd, 3rd this year and their 1st and 2nd next year.

I told you, Rex will draft Stephone Anthony. Harris and Anthony will be his ILBers. Hopefully he's stupid enough to get rid of Preston Brown. I forgot about Brown, he fits Rex's scheme pretty well.

McCoy's best years are behind him. Kinko's are in front of him. That's really the bottom line of this trade, a typical Rex move. Great trade by fellow Jets fan Howie Roseman. Kelly is, effectively, the GM now. There was a bit of a power struggle last year and he came out on top. He has final say on all personnel decisions. And trading for Alonso screams Kelly. Agreed, Kelly doesn't value any RB to pay them 10M per year, and he coached Kiko in college. Good move for the Eagles.

He also just hired Alvin Keels to be his agent. Maxwell could get 10 million given there will be multiple teams with cap space that want him. You would feel comfortable giving Maxwell $10M? No thanks Pay McCourty and find a less expensive CB like Cro, who wants to be here, or Flowers Not comfortable, but that's what his market value will be. Given the cap increases this year and the projected cap numbers for the next couple years, 10 million for Maxwell isn't going to kill you. It's not ideal, but necessary if you want one of the top FA corners. Maxwell is still young enough to play through this deal.

Wouldn't touch Worilds with a 10 foot pole If the Steelers are letting him walk, there's a reason....and last I heard they're pretty good with their personnel I also think Maxwell will want too much $$$$ for what he's worthReports out of the combine say Maxwell wants $10 million per year. He also just hired Alvin Keels to be his agent. Maxwell could get 10 million given there will be multiple teams with cap space that want him.

Let's take a close look at this "report". This is Rapaport....who is "reporting" about the "report" filed by NFL.com writer Kevin Patra here: www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000475975/article/report-johnson-urging-gm-to-bring-revis-back-to-jetsPatra does not have any "sources", instead Patra is reporting on the "report" in today's Daily News: The Daily News article was written by.....you guessed it....Mehta. Mehta claims no sources for this story at all: So what you have here is a somewhat credible writer (and I use both of those terms lightly)- Rapaport, "reporting" on the "report" of a "report" written by that spineless weasle without any credited source. Hell - Mehta doesn't even bother to use the "unnamed source" credit.....just that the DN as "learned". Tis the season for pure speculation. We see it every year, unsourced stories or tweets get picked up by supposed "NFL Insiders" that regurgitate it out to the masses.

I doubt this report is true, how creative do you have to be when you have 60 million in cap space? You either want him and pay him or you don't.

Three days prior to the start of free agency teams can start contacting the agents of prospective FAs. Nothing can be signed and players can not visit teams until the official start of free agency. I understand that I'm asking for the date Since free agency starts on March 10th, that would mean March 7th is the date agents and teams can start talking.
