Chin up, fellas. We're about 7 months away from this magnificent motherfucker wearing green and white. I appreciate the sentiment, and of course i think we're all on the same page about what needs to happen next year... But Rosen being defaulted to rank #2 vs Sam Darnold is really becoming a thing I don't agree with. Sam's not "obviously" better. Let's enjoy seeing this picture come into focus over the next 5-6 months. I think it's great that we may actually even have options.... (Macc's track record might suggest that's a bad thing tho) This will be a fascinating discusssion for the next 8 months. Battle lines will be drawn, armies for both kids will be formed and an epic battle between who is better will be waged. Good times coming.

He had a concussion. His back up lit it up though. 3 OT win.

Glad I was wrong about the Clemson game, still not loving Bryant at QB but that CU defense was outstanding last night. Does Gus Malzahn ever learn? His red zone play calling is so predictable and conservative, you could tell Venables knew exactly what was coming.
Anyway, CU should have their hands full next week in Louisville. Going to need to score way more than 14 to win next week.

I watched GA v. ND so I could see WImbush play for Notre Dame (he played at my old high school). I thought he looked OK. Darnold has some innate abilities that you cannot teach: his ability to stay calm in the pocket, buy time, then find the open receiver is impressive. Also, his ability to throw people open is special, you could see it on his second and 4th touchdown. I'd be happy as a pig in shit with either Rosen or Darnold. My concern with Rosen has nothing to do with the off field stuff, but I have some durability concerns with him as he has already dealt with knee and shoulder issues. Darnold is a more well built prospect. Agree about the injury thing with Rosen, he seems to get dinged up a lot. I said earlier this is going to be a two QB race at the top of this draft. I still want Darnold over Rosen right now and for that to happen the Jets need to have the first overall pick. Let's face it, if the Jets are not drafting 1 or 2 they are not going to get one of these two kids.

Darnold's ball placement is rediculous.

Winston threw INTs in college too, it's not always a bad thing. I'd rather have my QB be on the aggressive side and not be afraid of making throw than have a kid who waits and looks for someone to be totally wide open all the time. Agreed Guy has a ton of confidence and a killer instinct. Coupled with every physical tool and intangible trait you could ask for. A kid like Rosen would be a nice consolation prize but his immaturity off the field and some scouts questioning his love for the game does scare me a bit. I'm not worried about Rosen's off field stuff, it's not like he is beating women, getting arrested and shit like that. Banging multiple chicks in an illegal hot tub in your dorm room isn't necessarily a black flag in my book.

Bah Darnold will throw his share of INT's but he looks great in every single facet. He'll be the guy that breaks the USC stigma. Winston threw INTs in college too, it's not always a bad thing. I'd rather have my QB be on the aggressive side and not be afraid of making throw than have a kid who waits and looks for someone to be totally wide open all the time.

No, lived in the same apartment complex with Brentson. Hung out with him and Chester McGlockton a lot when I was at CU. Cool. My brother is a huge Steelers fan and LOVED Brenston Buckner. He was really cool, he was a big Yankee fan and we would go to the bar to watch the games and get hammered together. That boy could drink some beer.

Darnold may look a bit unorthodox at times with his motion but, he gets it done and can spin it. He's still really young too, he's looking the part.

Thanks for the link and I'll be sure too check it out. As you probably know I'll even watch HS games when I get the chance. Weren't you roommates with Brenston Buckner? No, lived in the same apartment complex with Brentson. Hung out with him and Chester McGlockton a lot when I was at CU.

So my old roommate from Clemson has been involved with the Nike Elite 11 and The Open QB competitions for years now. I often reference the prospects I see there and have had some really good access to the camps over the years. It's pretty impressive watching these 16 to 18 year old kids compete and get evaluated at a pretty high level, and then try to project them not only at the college level but as Future NFL prospects.
So NFL Network has finally picked up on this and is airing a documentary on this process. Check it out it's pretty interesting especially if you enjoy evaluating the QB position.

Anyone watching this Louisville game. Lamar making some highlight reel plays, but no consistency and missing a lot of throws. He is making a handful of brilliant plays, but not showing a lot of accuracy on a consistent basis. I was watching some of it, he has a long way to go as a passer to be considered a legit NFL prospect.

If you are a betting man, taking the 5 points tonight in the Clemson/Auburn game could be a good bet. I'm not sold at all on Kelly Bryant at QB for CU. He isn't nearly the passer that Watson was, or even Boyd was. Auburn defense held Watson and the offense in check last year and Clemson won a tight low scoring game, this year I can see them coming in and beating Clemson straight up. Hope I'm wrong because with the injury to FSU's QB, a win tonight could clear the way to another playoff appearance.

It was a perfect pass. Sweet. Having said that everything he's throwing is underneath or to backs or screens or quick throws to the sideline. I'd like to see him air it out. _ That's Leach's offense though. It's designed to get the ball out quick to guys who can make plays with their feet. People always say that his system isn't conducive to producing NFL QBs, but if you really look at and listen to Leach it really isn't the system to blame but rather the type of QB he likes to recruit. He openly states he doesn't look for kids with big arms but rather guys who are accurate and get rid of the ball quickly. This is why his QBs don't become better NFL prospects. He isn't recruiting kids to develop into pro QBs but guys who will run his offense.
