Why does Dal Colle still get playing time? He's fucking awful at every aspect of the game...can't pass, can't shoot, slow as shit, never wins board battles, and has no hockey sense. Beats me. and home ice is slipping away fast. Trade deadline acquisitions haven’t done shit. They were better before. Looking like a quick first round exit, |

Wow did they come up small in these big games. 2 games, at home, vs the team in your way for home ice. Sorokin put in for the biggest game yet of his nhl career and folded like a cheap suit. Barzal looks lost. Palmieri and zajac are useless. Zajac should be taxi squad player. Can’t play a good second period. Can’t play on the road. Last night actually looked like a road game. Stumbling to the finish line is not the way you want to enter the playoffs

Wahlstrom is the guy I can't figure out. Ever since the deadline deals, he hasn't played. I would rather see a young guy out there, maybe making mistakes, but he is a scorer. And we desperately need one of those. Also, the team has not been solid in our own zone for the past few weeks. I guess everyone goes through these rough patches over a long season. May as well get ours over with now. At least that is what I keep telling myself. |

From what I’ve read, Trotz said whalstrom was slipping in practice and then also on the ice, that’s why he’s sitting out. Said it’s a long grind and he’s young and hasn’t figured it out yet, like a veteran player has. Explains a lot why trotz loves his veterans over young guys. Wrong as that may be. Anyhoo.

So, if I have this right, this was the 5th time in the last 6 games that the Isles have failed to score a goal at 5 on 5. This is not a very good hockey team right now. Soro kept them in it tonight, but they were dominated, Again.

Soro kept them in it tonight, but they were dominated, Again. I noticed their passing is bad. In the feet, out in front, behind. Rarely ever see a crisp quick tape to tape pass anymore. and then the turnovers... oye. they are just bad now. Only 5 points upon the rags. Honestly would not be surprised if rags win both. |

I think part of the issue is that they are getting trapped in their own zone for entire shifts. When guys are on the ice for a minute and a half plus, they get sloppy, and once they get possession of the puck, the length of the shift impcts ability to break out. Instead we are lucky to get to the red line, dump the puck in (giving up possession) and change lines. Putting us right back on the defensive. Been so damn furstrating to watch these last few weeks. If Trotz doesn't get this figured out, we may find ourselves on the outside looking in come playoff time. |
