I agree on edge rusher, WR & QB as priorities in the draft -- and I would love to see us come away with a RB as well, but i have not heard that we have shown any kind of significant interest in any of the running backs in this draft. Does not look like there is even a single running back on the list of prospects. Not sure if that's a smokescreen or not, and I haven't checked into all the Pro Days attended by the Jets for teams that may only have a RB as a solid draft prospect. My thinking at RB comes from the fact that... - Ivory has been the #1 and he's heading into his final contract year. He also has always had injury concerns. - Powell is a very good backup, but not someone you'd consider very good as a starter. - Ridley is solid depth, similar to Powell assuming he's back to full health. But again, he's not an every down starter. So if you look at the RB depth chart it has two key problems in my opinion: 1. The #1 guy is another year older and is heading into the final year of his contract. He's also not the most durable. We need a starter for 2016. Not sure Ridley is that guy. 2. The backups are clearly backups and while deserving of touches (5-8 per game?) I'm not sure either of them are starting caliber. I think we want to add youth, speed and capability at RB while also giving us the ability to let Ivory walk after 2015 if we find a suitable starter in this Draft. I agree with everything you said -- I believe that RB is a young man's position and I would love to see us take an RB in the draft. There should be some real solid options still on the board at the top of the 3rd round. I just find it curious that we have not had met with any.

I don't think a meeting with a prospect at his pro day, the combine or Sr Bowl count against the limit of 30. I believe there is also an exemption for local prospects - which is why teams always meet with a bunch of local guys.

No the list includes visits that we have had at the combine, the senior bowl, east-west game etc. I do not think these meetings count against the 30 limit at our facility.
