Tough lost tonight against Calgry. This wasn't like the normal type of Devils blown lead where Pete ices some stupid line up. This was just crap luck. I didn't believe in starting Clemmeson tonight, but he played well. Some how I knew we'd still go into OT. Once they made it 4-3 with 1:13 left I told my friend this would be an OT game. If only Jagr held onto the puck instead of throwing a blind pass back in front of the empty net we might have killed off the clock. I swear this team is not allowed to score empty net goals. The first game when we scored one was a fluke and Cammy didn't know the rules. We should have had two points.
Good news is Larsson still looks great and our PK has returned. We're 22/22 or 23/23 now since Sal's been injured. Larsson is a beast. Helgelson has also looked good as a Sal replacement. He's got a bright future as a stay at home physical defenseman.

Pete Jr aka Harrold will be in the lineup tomorrow for Gelinas. I kind of understand this move for this game only since Gelinas has struggled defensively. Plus we kind of need this win after losing to Calgary, but this better only be for one game. Harrold is blah and we need to develop our young talent. At least to show case them for a trade and to better understand which young defensemen we should keep going forward.

Cory is the only one who really showed up today. If it wasn't for him we would have lost 5-0. Shitty effort all around and I'm tried of Zidlicky. He's run his course with this team. Time to sell him off for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Either he's taking a stupid penalty or giving up the puck for an odd man rush. He was basically responsible for both goals tonight. On the 1st one he chipped the picked too hard back his other defenseman and then lost his man in front of the net who scored. On the second goal he turned the puck over and then had the puck go off his leg and in. Peter Harrold should also never see the ice again. The only reason I'm keeping Dumboer for the season is so we tank and get a top 5 pick in a really strong draft. Why would this idiot coach put Zids with Gelinas or Harrold? That's a terrible defensive pairing. Side note: sadly it looks like Elias is done. He is/was my favorite Devil ever. He's been terrible this season. It looks like age has finally caught up to him. No reason for him not to play well being paired with Rico and Havlet

I know Alexander Mogilny didn't spend much time as a NJ Devil, but he was fun to watch. I didn't realize how crazy his story was. This is a great video about him. I highly recommend watching it. www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/defector-2/ |
