And say hello to another year of Geno/Vick/General incompetence at the QB position. How the fuck can anyone even be excited for next year or for our foreseeable future knowing this? First time in years that the Jets were well on their way to being in position to draft a legitimate franchise QB prospect and in typical Jet fashion, they fuck it all up by winning a bullshit game against a pathetic Titans team. Hell, a guy like Amari Cooper might not even make it to us when all is said and done. Might as well just start discussing guys like DeVante Parker and Brandon Scherff. Yup...the 15yard penalty on the sidelines proved Tennessee wanted to lose more than the Jets. Rex is a pathetic desperate man, bouncing round on the sideline like his POS 3-11 team achieved something, they just fucked us in the ass despite what Rex and his disciple Pace say. This is what pisses me off the most. Bunch of fucking fools acting like they just won the fucking Super Bowl.

Just for some perspective, wasn't Johnny football supposed to be some mega superstar robocop QB? And what about the Tank 4 Teddy, only available first overall. They both suck. And I hear a lot of ppl doubting Mariotta. But they really fucked up today. Now it's on us to fuck up Pasts* hopes of home field advantage. If anyone can do it, it's Rex. And very typical Jets thing to do. i don't think he would have dropped as low as he did if people beieved that. but I see your point that nothing is a guarantee except maybe Andrew Luck ^ ^ pretty much this. We wont know how costly or not this win is for several years - who knows it might dodge us a bullet because Mariotta might not be a successful NFL player. Instead of getting a mediocre QB we might get the best WR or a tackle who could be a 10 year staple of our O line.

The biggest fail of this win is that we may be desperate enough to roll the dice on Winston, who I have watched for the past two years, living very close to FSU. He is closer to Ryan Leaf than he is to Manning. Mariota has the elite talent and the mental make up to survive in NY. Winston will be as bad or worse than Geno.
we are F'd.

fucking fuck, motherfucker cocksucking fuck ass fuck!!!! Don't worry, we can hold our heads high, we beat another 2-11 team 16-11....Rex is a desperate pathetic dumb fuck, he finds a way to win the only game with significant implications going forward. The Titans are the only winners here.

I think Winston is going to fall big time in the draft - no one is going to pay someone high 1st money with his red flags. Then you have the fact he has sketchy mechanics. I would be very surprised if the Jets picked him in the 1st, especially if Idzik is still at the helm.

Jackasses like Skip Bayless and Tony Kornheiser (aka talking heads who know dick about evaluating QB's) pumped up Johnny Manziel as some kind of amazing QB prospect. I knew that no one was going to draft a 5'11 185 lb QB from a gimmicky offense at the top of the draft. He only went in the 1st round because the Browns are...well...the Browns. A shitload of his big plays at A&M stemmed from him simply scrambling around in the pocket and throwing up prayers to Mike Evans. There's no doubt in my mind that Mariota is the best QB prospect to come out since Luck three years ago. That's why it sucks a bag of dicks to miss out on him.

But I get the sense we are truly fucked now indeed.

Of all the players near the top of the draft, I would like the Jets to draft Cooper. Decker, Harvin (assuming he stays), Cooper and Kerley make for a good foursome of receivers. Hopefully Amaro can continue to develop. I desperately wanted the Jets to take ODB last season as the WR a slight step behind the top tier of Watkins and Evans (who were always going to be out of the Jets' reach) but we had to go win those games at the back end of the season which dropped us to the mid-first round.
I don't watch much college football, but I'm not convinced that either Mariota or Winston will be franchise QBs. Mariota to me has the mental makeup to be a successful NFL QB but he's played in a very particular system at Oregon that won't be the go at the Jets next season, no matter who the head coach is. Winston comes across as a very immature young man and he throws an insane amount of picks. He's good enough to overcome it at FSU but will he be good enough at the next level?
I'm hoping that the Jets don't win any more meaningless games this season and deny ourselves a top pick in the draft.

Well, Tennessee still plays the Jags I believe, so they may get to 3 wins. Besides, we can always trade up (we did for Sanchez). Hopefully Winston scares the sh!t out of the Titans. Even if Tennessee gets to 3 wins, they will pick higher than us. They had a weaker SOS going into this week, and play Jax and someone else, while we play Miami and New England. We are probably looking at 4th at absolute best, 6th at worst. I don't think we have any shot against NE or Miami. Our only hope is if (and it is a huge IF) Tennessee beats the Jags and Indianapolis takes their foot off the pedal in the last week, thereby allowing the Titans to beat them and finish with a higher record than us.

I'we not sure who you are talking to, but listen to what Chip Kelly says about him. Yes, the same Chip Kelly that has Sanchez playing light years ahead of what Rex ever did with him.
So while TB or TN has their franchise guy, we hang our future on Geno who has shown zero improvement 30 games into his career.
Lets all rejoice for another potential 12 loss season next year.
I know I won't waste a penny on this team again next year.
