So basically....We suck with an Overpaid Fitz going possibly 8-8 this year(with how the start of this schedule is....yikes!) at best OR we suck even worse(go 6-10 at best) with GeeNope who is paid peanuts in comparison? Gee...That will certainly put butts in the seats at MetLife, huh? It's a no-win situation(as it always is) for the Jets and us as Jets fans. The hurting never stops. It never fucking stops. EVER. (now that said.....FUCK YOU AND LET'S GO JETS!!) Or there is the million dollar scratch ticket option that Genope doesn't completely suck ass and plays more like he did in college.

Hit the bricks, Fitz. Sick of it. You had your chance, both last season and in the off-season, and you and your putz of an agent blew both chances.
If the Rams cut Foles, which apparently is becoming more and more likely, I'd rather the Jets take a flyer on Foles to be a placeholder while they sort out which one of Petty and Hackenberg should start in 2017.

The simple math, as one of the beat reporters pointed out, is that a 1 yr 12 mill contract will count for, wait for it, 12 mill vs the cap this year. Where a multi-year deal, the hit is spread out. Right there, Harvard boy should know why a 1 yr, $12 mill contract isnt happening. Plus it leaves the Jets potentially in the very same situation next summer. Oh God no!

I think there is a very good chance that one of these scenarios plays out.
Scenario A - Jets sign Fitz - Jets start off the season 1-5 - Media and Jets fans kill Mac for spending the money to sign Fitz instead of saving the money and starting Geno.
Scenario B - Jets don't sign Fitz - Jets start off the season 1-5 - Media and Jets fans kill Mac for not spending the money to sign Fitz instead of saving the money and starting Geno.

Could have avoided all this by drafting Lynch.

Could have avoided all this by drafting Lynch. Lol... but seriously. It's kind of true. Not specifically Lynch per say, but a QB that everyone felt confident about. There's hope with Hack, but not what I would call complete confidence. That's absolutely affects yours, mine and everyone's perception of our present situation and the stakes at present.

I would have had no problem if we picked Lynch but I sure as hell would not have had "complete confidence" in him for 2016 or beyond for that matter. And I highly doubt it would have changed anyone's perspective... well, except yours, if we had chosen him.

And I highly doubt it would have changed anyone's perspective... well, except yours, if we had chosen him. I don't mean like that. What I meant is -- the stakes are significantly different when you believe you *probably* have your franchise quarterback-to-be on the roster. 2016 doesn't hold the same powder of keg volitality if you have a Wentz, Lynch - whatever - on your bench. Suddenly it's who cares about the Fitz situation. Or Geno.. cause, you know where all roads lead. The Rook. That kind of quiet confidence comes with a 1st round pedigree QB... and I'm sorry, but we all know Hackenberg does NOT fit that profile.

Speak for yourself, not for others, Paradis. At this point, we don't know...ANYTHING about Hackenberg. Just like we won't know...ANYTHING about Lynch if we were in the same situation. This is just pure speculating just to speculate because you're bored.

Meanwhile the rest of the NFL agreed he wasn't 1st round material. In fact, had Mac not pulled the trigger - he might have slid another a round or two. Spare me the bullshit on this one, brother. Geno was drafted higher than Hack. And when we're only 6 weeks removed from the draft - that shit does still matter. It's a statement about value & confidence. Goff, Wentz & Lynch. Those were the first round QBs. Those are the guys that instill confidence in the future. Those are the guys that franchises made a statement when they select them... Not the "wait & see" guy on the back end of round 2 with college worst numbers the past 2 years.
