Hate hate HATE that corner play 10 yards off the receiver at the snap bullshit. Unreal. You can see it pre snap, and you know where the ball is going for an 8 yard gain. I heard on sports radio that Bowles doesn't like press coverage so Revis's skill isn't really taken advantage of. Kind of a waste of $17 million if true. If you ask me If Bowles belief system for D is to pressure the QB and play "off" coverage rather than press, I think he needs to re-visit his rationale. If I'm Andy Dalton and I feel my O line can not protect me, and I look out wide and see AJ Green with Press Coverage, I'm simply going to a quick hitch or screen to Green every time. Frankly, the coverage was so "off" that the Bengals didn't even bother with quick slants. But then again, since the Bengals burnt the Jets deep so many times, I can't imagine what it would have looked like if the Jets were in press coverage most of the time. Perhaps, the game plan was off coverage because Bowles knew the Jets could not hang with the Bengals on the deep stuff?

The whole offense was out of sync for whatever reason. Decker was barely involved. Marshall couldn't catch. The only bright spot was Enunwa. Forte played well but I just feel like he's gonna get shut down by the middle of the season. God I wish we took Gurley.
Overall though, in reality we lost by terrible kicking. Missed extra point and blocked chip shot FG. Should be gimmes.
If we lose to Rex though on Thursday, i'm gonna be scared to even see what these forums will look like.

The offense was out of sync the entire pre-season so it's not surprising. We were told not to worry because Fitz would be expected to be rusty having missed most of the off season, and he started out this way last year's pre-season and stepped it up once the season started. Well, no, he looks just as shitty as he did in pre-season. And Decker being invisible for so long was bizarre. Marshall is clearly hurting in that sore hip, either just use him as a decoy or put Robby Anderson in. And I think defenses will shut down Forte much sooner than mid-season

Sounds just like last year's numbers. 12 million? UGH!!!! To make it even worse, those rankings include 4 QBs making their first NFL starts: Siemian, Garoppolo, Prescott and Wentz.

Bad: AFC tiebreaker already lost to an AFC team that will be in the mix for a WC spot, if we lose to the Chiefs and Sqeelers you can forget the playoffs.

My small picture take away from the game is that the Jets have the worst starting QB in the NFL. He is a terribly innacurate weak armed QB with flawed mechanics who is nearing the end of his career. This IS what Ryan Fitzpatrick looks like against good NFL defenses. My big picture take away is that Bowles had his team ready to play and that the Jets may have finally landed a coach who can deliver some long term success. Get ready for some more heart breaking losses because the schedule is tough and the Jets have just enough to be competitive with NFL elites, but not enough to beat any of them without getting a few breaks. LOL you seriously think Fitz is the worst QB in the league? C'mon now man.

How's this for poetic justice: After seeing Darelle Revis hold NFL franchises hostage over his salary demands throughout his career, this offseason, we get to see him squirm as the Jets will likely threaten to cut him if he does not restructure his deal. He is not playing at a $16 million per year caliber anymore and he shouldn't be paid as if he is.

The best they can do is cut him and have about 7 million (maybe?) or so on the books for the next two years. "Restructure" implies he gets his money, just more spread out, which would be even worse as he declines further and further. No?

I can't identify any QB who started on Sunday other than Shaun Hill who would NOT be preferable to Fitz, but Bradford will be starting games there soon enough.

I think the plan is to have Revis transition to FS where his football brains and love of film study should allow him to perform at a high level.
