I will start by saying that neither Bowles or Mac are blameless in this debacle of a season. Bowles has not been good, and the roster ultimately is under Mac's eye. However, I have completely changed my mind on wanting Bowles gone.
This roster is crap, and Mac needs to realize it and start from scratch. He tried to do a "competitive rebuild" and that was a mistake. Even though the roster is crap, the team is worse than what the roster says it should be. Most people will blame Bowles just because that's the easy thing to do.
However, after the incident with Bowles health situation Friday, and his team coming out and laying an egg like this has never had me more convinced that there is just a bunch of over paid, underachieving players with horrible, horrible attitudes and pride for a team.
I want the roster gutted outside about 10 people and start over. Get rid of basically al the old vets outside of maybe a few, and start over with guys who want to play and want to play hard.
Merry Christmas.

No more half measures
GM and coach need to go. GM needs to pick a coach, not the opposite way.

Locker room filled with the worst kinds of players - dummies with bad attitudes (most of them sound like they are beyond stupid). They really suck.

Im not disagreeing with you but you can't fire 80 something players. And I havent seen anything from Bowles that would suggest he would be a good fit for a young team. Come to think of it haven't seen much that would make him a good fit for any kind of team.

I agreewith rebuilding and patience but is Oakland the best example? This is their first winning season this century isn't it?

No GM can flip a roster as pathetic as the Jets roster was in two years. It's ignorant to think that. Mac's biggest issue was not just completely tearing it down immediately. He has missed on some picks, so have lots of GMs. He's also hit on some.

For all those who think just firing the coach and GM so soon again is the answer, let me ask you this.
Do you think the Jets are going to be attracting high end candidates after showing such a quick trigger finger?
All the hot commodity GM types already said no to even interviewing last time. It's not going to magically be better this time around.

The coach needs fired. This team is a joke. No heart. That comes from the coach.

I'm fine with committing to Macc for another 2-3 years and allowing him to pick his own HC. I've said it before, I'm willing to give Macc some slack if for no other reason than this past offseason was the first time he had his own scouting department in place and they found us 3 promising WR's in the 7th round and UDFA.
But Bowles needs to go no matter what IMO
Make a clean break and bring in an offensive mind with some past HC experience...maybe a Scott Linehan or Todd Haley.
Or make a hard push for a young up and coming star like Kyle Shanahan.
Either way, fuck hiring yet another defensive coach.
We should've hired Adam Gase two years ago

It's not going to magically be better this time around. I think Mac is safe. As for a HC, I dont think that matters. I think its the contract that matters. Coaches are guaranteed their money. Can even leave out offsets to sweeten the pot even further. I seem to remember "cap hell" being the talking point surrounding our searches in the past. Mainly for GMs. But that wont be an issue this time around even if we fire Mac.. Aside from money, high draft pick and cap room are also attractive. Most attractive job would be a job with a franchise QB already in place but those jobs typically dont open up bc teams with franchise QBs win.

Ownership is the biggest issue. Woody has been here longer than any single player, coach or front office member associated with this team. It's his job to set the tone for the organization. In a few years we're sure to have a new coaching staff and GM in place. 90% of the payers on this 2016 roster will be gone but us fans will still be subjected to the same level of mediocrity that the Jets have branded throughout their history.
I don't know if Woody is a competitor at heart. Does he really care about winning from a competitive standpoint or only to the end that more wins equals more fan interest, more butts in the seats and at Modell's buying jerseys. Does he have any vision of what he wants "Jets football" to mean because every few years we seem to change course. Does a 41-3 loss hurt him any more or less than any other loss?
Fire Bradway. Fire Tannenbaum. Fire Idzik. Fire Mac. Fire Herm. Fire Mangini. Fire Rex. Fire Bowles. How do you get it wrong this many times in a row?
We have no identity as a franchise and that starts at the top.

The coach needs fired. This team is a joke. No heart. That comes from the coach. I disagree. Heart comes from the players. If each player can't find a way to compete and rolls up in the fetal position at any sign of adversity, the team is screwed. Vince Lombardi couldn't turn this team around.
