Despite the baseball quote, I think Winston will declare. I am not confident that he will fall to six so I suspect the Winston haters wont have to worry when the Jets are on the clock.

I don't want Marrone to be the coach of the Jets. I live in Western, NY and I have watched more Bills games than most Jets fans since my wife is a die hard Bills fan. I never said I wanted him as coach. All I said was your perception of him being a weakling is very weak at best. And a "hard on" just means you're very emphatic about something, negatively or positively.
Thunderdome...Thunderdome...Thunderdome...
You would think a mod would know this, instead of expanding the developing axe she is grinding with choon because he called her and her arrogance out. Tsk tsk

I won't be too upset if he goes back. Makes next years class more interesting and will spare our new GM the pressure of tying his fate to a qb in his first year. It could well end up being Winston versus Connor Cook in the draft next year.

So what if he does go back to school, and Mariotta's stock drops, and he falls to #6. "Next up on the clock, the NY Jets" What do you do? Take him? Absolutely, the Jets had better take Mariotta if he falls to #6. That's a no brainer imo. We should only be so lucky. Having said that, stop setting yourself up to be disappointed. He will be taken with the first pick and is heading to Tampa. The Bucs will be fools to let him fall to another team.

What is the offensive philosophy? But for me the answer is easy: pass. Take someone else or trade the pick. If this so-called can't miss prospect is dropping to 6, perhaps he'd be better suited dropping further to 7. Let him be someone else's regret. This right here, especially if Winston foregoes the draft. If QB-needy teams pass on a guy who already has what can be viewed as a "gimmicky" skill-set, I'll be incredibly nervous if the Jets take him at 6 as the first QB selected. Quick-screens and read options are not the way to win ball games in the NFL. Not saying that's all Mariotta has, but have we seen enough outside of that to warrant a pick this high?

Now ESPN is reporting that he will declare for the draft.
ESPN Stats & Info @espnstatsinfo 19s19 seconds ago Jameis Winston will reportedly declare for the NFL Draft. He is the 3rd Heisman winning QB from Florida State (Charlie Ward, Chris Weinke)

He's coming out.
Already starting to hear all these analysts change their tune and say they'd prefer Winston over Mariota. That's music to his ears.

I knew this was a possibility when after he lost they asked him about the draft and he told them the only thing he was focusing on now was baseball season. Which if he was entering the draft he wouldn't be able to play baseball this season. So I think this is pretty believable.
Looks like someone is about to shoot that lil birdie with a BB gun.

If the Titans don't take him he's falling to us. I like Jameis, but he's been losing me. I think I still take him and sit him for at least a season....
If Winston and Cooper are miraculously on the board at 6(highly doubtful), this board will crash!

Is there any chance the Redskins will take him? I still think Tampa is a possibility. But so much can still happen between now and the draft that I guess anything is still possible -- including a major drop for either him or Mariota.

Kirk Cousins would only be a fill-in.

Jets fans, love him or hate him, really need to start wrapping their heads around him being our QB. It's a real possibility he could be there at 6.
