Give me Cooper 10 times over. Jameis is a ticking timebomb. Let him explode on someone else's draft. Jameis is our ticket to the Super Bowl. We must try to draft this quarterback. We have a real shot at this, one way or another, holding on to pick #6.

I think if he is there at 6 we have to take a chance. I highly boubt he is there but you never know. Maybe he will push Cooper to us. You also have to take into consideration that Andrus Peat just declared and is considered a Top 5 prospect in this draft by many and the best overall LT. Someone like Winston, Cooper or Gregory is bound to be there at #6. I have to believe that Winston's off-field concerns would prevent a team from giving up multiple picks to move past us to select him. I wouldnt hesitate pulling the trigger on him over anyone else in this draft. If he's there, I'd make him a Jet and move on. We have 50+ million to fill holes with in FA most of which must be spent this cap year. We also hold a high 2nd for a WR.

If not for Winston's off field issues, the Jets would not even sniff him at the 6th spot. I personally hope he is there, the Jets pick and this star crossed franchise finally catches a break.

How the heck is this player the ticket to the SB? How does anybody know this as of yet?
He's a prospect who has a lot of promise, but will still need to develop at the NFL level. He will have his ups and downs just like any first year QB.
I just have to laugh, because the same people throwing Geno to the garbage are making Winston the savior, it's just wrong.

I would take Cooper and then get a guy like Hundley in the second round. I would love for them to take a flier on a guy like Bradford if available and then let the young kid sit for a couple of years and actually develop instead of being thrown immediately into the fire.

Cooper is the most overhyped early prospect this year.....it's not even close. All of the pro Cooper fanatics here will be glad when we pass on him the next draft.

I think I would rather take Cooper at #6 than Winston or Mariotta if both were on the board, and if we were going offense at #6.
Who is your top 6?

It's early but Cooper is not....and will never be a part of it. He reminds me of a mid 20's pick. Cooper is a good receiver that will never be worth the 6th overall pick. If I draft a WR at #6 I want a difference maker and a true #1 and Cooper does not fit that bill. Why do you like him at #6 overall?

I can't see taking one of the top OL, and I just think the QB's are risky at the top of the draft, Winston is probably a pick with better upside and is NFL ready, if he can grow up, he has good potential at the NFL level I think, the off-the-field issues obviously bother me.
I just think the Jets need to go offense, and QB and WR are the top two needs, and Cooper is the better of the 3 with the higher upside. Though, I really like Green-Beckham, even better than Cooper.

No offense Ray, and not solely directed at you.....but our Draft Wannabees at this stage are regurgitating the latest Walter Mock Drafts. We all know that will change come draft time and I've already voiced my opinions about some of the prospects. All I hear is that I'd rather have so and so.......that shit falls on deaf ears without the reasoning behind it. Why do you think Cooper would be a good pick? Is it his height, his blazing speed, his great hands? If you don't watch anything other than his highlight video...just tap out.

I'm not one of them, I'm shaky with the QB's as mentioned. I've paid a lot of attention to Cooper towards the end of the season, I just think he will be a stud. I see some Bryant in Cooper, his size, strength and game breaking ability. But I do have my eyes on a Green-Beckham, hope he rises during draft workouts. I just think we go offense. But I suppose depending on what happens in FA, will very much shape our draft strategy. Have to go BAP, but taking another DL would be rough, though I do like some of the DE/OLB prospects at the top of the draft, and I could see us going after a pass rushing stud.

More than regurgitating the latest Walter whatever, I think most of us are high on Cooper because we've gotten to see him play a bunch due to Alabama's ubiquitous media coverage. Cooper to me has terrific route running, great hands, comes up in big situations/games and at least in College/SEC looked fast enough. I also like how fluid he plays, he feels natural. Don't see a flaw in his game. Also heard Carter tout his work ethic and commitment to his craft on my drive in the other day.
Having said that, the 2/3 games I watched Parker play this year, I was very impressed by HOW he catches the ball - the technique on every catch was so smooth. With his height and build, I love his potential - if he runs well at combine/pro day - I could see him overtaking Cooper, but both seem like terrific prospects to me.
Never seen DGB playing game in real time, so no idea on him - what did folks see there at Mizzou?
That said, I don't claim to be a draft expert or film guy. Just opinion.

With Cooper I don't see that one great attribute that would make him worthy of the #6 overall pick. Yeah...he's a slick route runner, but IMO that's his best attribute and I don't see a game changer, which is what I want with a pick that high. Would much rather have Parker. I think everyone here and their mother has loved DGB since early last year. He just can't be in the conversation with our first rounder because of all of the question marks. If we had the 20th pick....then he should be considered.

Anyone have some faulty info about Winston they could leak to Tennessee?
Not that we're lacking in the red flag dept already with Winston....
