Another west coast pussy who became shell shocked when hit by that fat Samoan. Remember. You mean the guy that started 15 games his rookie season, and 16 his second season, and played 6 playoff games those two seasons? Yeah, great example. At least throw a lame David Carr comparison out there if you're looking for a west coast dude who got shell shocked behind a shit offensive line. Fucker got sacked 76 times his rookie season.

Sanchez was surrounded by talent basically just had to throw the ball in the air or hand it off. If Sanchez was out here this pre season it be a horror show

Let McCown get killed them bring Sammie in week 9 to develop for next year. And if you think I’m wrong, take that $8K you’ve been posing with and bet it on the jets to make the playoffs.

The fact that we have little to no expectations is the perfect opportunity to start him. If we go 5-11 it will not be his fault it will be overall talent level but he has a year of NFL exp under his belt so when we improve the talent a smidge he can and will capitalize on it.

So the starting QB question is answered ... what remains is who will ultimately have the better QB career, Bridgewater or Sam. We all hope for Sam ... but there is a big concern. The record shows that Maccagnan is essentially an idiot NFL GM. And idiots like Maccagnan make terrible decisions ... Is a second round pick worth it for Bridgewater and a sixth rounder?
Another concern is Sam's health and progress. The guy is surrounded by the Idiot GM's draft and free agent selections ... mostly free agents because the vast majority of Maccagnan the idiot's draft picks are gone. Only other concern I have is my hope that Joe Benigno makes it back on the air for this season. We need Joe to accurately describe Maccagnan's lack of value. Maccagnan the idiot ...

Whats amazing is that people always point out the risk with Sam... is he going to develop, will he wilt under pressure, will Macc put the right talent around him (which are all valid concerns) but completely ignore the risk with Teddy coming back from what's been described as an exploded knee that had to be totally rebuilt, when we haven't seen him play a full game yet... but Teddy's the sure thing, that we're going to regret trading? WLF?

I know, me too. But still at least there are legit reasons to be optimistic.Agree with both posts. My first game was at Shea Nov of 1969. I recently said to my wife that I am very concerned about Darnold. She asked, wide eye, "but why honey he seems really good and everyone is saying good things about him". I said " That means he will die in a horrible accident after the season". Her response. "Effin Jets fans". True story. As a lifelong fan it does seem almost too good to be true and I fight the "other shoe must drop" feeling all true Jet fans must have at this point. Sopne and I will be at the Broncos game in early Oct. To quote a former Jet, "Can't wait". Funny, the conversations with my wife usually go something along the lines of -- "honey, you know I don't give a rats ass about your fucking Jets, but you know, no matter how much you get your hopes up they are always going to suck in the end. You go through this all the time -- get your hopes up only to be crushed. I love you, but if you think the Jets are ever going to win anything, you are an idiot. Go Giants!!"
She doesn't give a shit about the Giants either, but she know it pisses me off, so she always adds something about them.

Aside from going to the same school, Darnold and Sanchez could not be more different, Sanchez seemed like an immature but talented kid who loved celebrity -- maybe more than football. Darnold does not appear to give a rats ass about anything other than being the best football player he can be. There are no guarantees, but i just can't see Darnold flaming out the way Sanchez did.
And, Sanchez was not ruined by playing as a rookie. The problem with Sanchez was that he was still playing like a rookie in years 3 & 4. He never got better.

WLF? No ... I'm in favor of Sam. Got the same concerns with Teddy as you've detailed. Sam's size, and everything else are fabulous. He reminds a number of NFL people of Jim Kelly ... a linebacker's body with excellent QB talents. Only regret I have is Maccagnan. Don't think he's another Idzik ... but so far he's below average ... well below. As far as the Teddy trade and starting Sam goes ... I give a lot of credit to Bowles. Consider that he decided who got what and how many reps in camp ... who started each pre-season game and how long they played ... Bowles decides everything pertinent to on the field in camp and in games. Maccagnan has nothing to say ... because he's an idiot.
