The Bills certainly have the pieces this season to make some noise. And I have no doubt Rex will make that defense a top unit in the league. BUT again, all comes down to who's their QB and how Rex will influence the offense.
It'll be interesting to see how things play out between the Jets and the Bills, they're built the same (pending on the draft) but now just with new leaders.

I wouldn't even mind Cumberland sticking around if he wasn't god awful at blocking. He should never be assigned to stay in and block, never.

So the defense isn't complete? What about the offense (other than the obvious, QB). I wonder why he felt the need to say that. He was asked "After adding Revis, Cromartie, Skrine, Do you feel like your defense is looking complete?"

Not much but hey, it's news.
Todd Bowles, on @nfl_AM, says #Jets D isn't complete yet. "We still have a ways to go getting the players we want." Todd Bowles, on @nfl_AM, reiterates Geno Smith is "the No.1 guy right now." Notes Fitzpatrick is injured + the draft isn't here yet. Todd Bowles on Geno being No. 1: "There’s nobody else we have...Geno is our guy right now." Todd Bowles says he sees potential in Geno Smith, but ... "You can’t have turnovers in this league, no matter who you are." #Jets coach Todd Bowles says Geno Smith will get first team reps in training camp to start. Then it’s up to him to keep the job.
#Jets plan to go with best player available on draft day, Bowles said
Todd Bowles doesn't have a problem with Brandon Marshall appearing on Showtime NFL show. Program is taped on Tuesdays (players day off).
Jets coach Todd Bowles: "I don’t ever go into a season trying to be 8-8. That’s not a good season for me, I’m sorry." More Todd Bowles: "My job is to bring a Super Bowl to the city." Todd Bowles takes exception to a reporter (not me) describing the locker room as 53 maniacs: "You make it sound like Con Air."
Bowles doesn't view Calvin Pryor as true box safety. He'll be used close & farther away from LOS. But he'll start off as Jets strong safety
The Jets will have a private workout with Jameis Winston, per Todd Bowles.
And one random note I saw: Ken Whisenhunt on Marcus Mariota: "If he comes to us at No. 2, he's definitely going to be the day 1 starter..I'm very impressed by Marcus."

Wouldn't trade for either because sustained success comes from developing your own (by and large), and both anyway are nearer the end of their careers than the start. Haven't we been through all this with Favre? Yes, and it was spectacular. With Rivers you can have sustained success for at least 3-4 years. That's good enough for me.

Give me Rivers for whatever the fuck they want. He's still got plenty of years left in him. He could be our Kurt Warner situation.
I see no reason why Rivers, decker, and Marshall wouldn't dominate.
This thread is a tease. Sigh. We need a QB.

Of course. My point of course is that Dee was the best available at a position of need but not BPA, where the reverse is true of Sheldon. Darelle was a need but not sure he was a consensus BPAS after moving up. Ghoulston was BPA. Sanchez wasn't, Interesting discussion as always. Which all comes back to one point really... The draft is a crap shoot. You take the BPA….unless you have a need….but if the BPA is a position you're already strong at, go 2nd BPA. In other words…..pray it works out.

Wilfork to Texans officially.
With him, Watt and Clowney (if he stays on the field)…that's a pretty big line.

Is it possible? Of course. Will it happen? Who the hell knows.
I'm very curious to see how Bowles handles working with QBs and how they develop under him. Rex didn't develop a single QB in his 6 years and actually made them worse. He always went with one extreme way or the other, so I feel like that influenced our guys pretty heavily and made them think more then they had too.
But I think Geno can do it, he does need help though from the oline.

I mean, it makes sense if you have a QB like Brees, but fuckin a.
Dolphins have a nice set of weapons with Landry, Wallace, Jordan and now Stills.

We need QB to be a game manager and nothing more - I think Geno or Fitzpatrick can both handle that with the weapons they have around them. Throw in some draft picks and you got yourself a stew going Nothing is Geno's career has even hinted he might be a decent game manager. The guy is an interception or stupid mistake waiting to happen. Even more so than Sanchez. Fitzpatrick might be a game manager, but really, he's garbage. There's a reason he was traded for a 7th round pick and was odd man out on a team with brian hoyer and ryan mallett. Last years oline was pretty terrible too. Winters was awful. I really think the jets should look at OL early in the draft. Build a wall for Geno and I think he would be okay.
