Hard for a goalie to play great and still give up 4 goals, but Varlamov did that tonight. Bruins could have had 4 in the 3rd period alone. We locked it down after they got it to 1, but from the time Nelson put us up 3 until they cut it to 1, they were just peppering Varlamov. We should have lost that game but Varly made some huge saves when he had to. I agree that it's hard to look good giving up four goals but we were dominated tonight. I hope he pulls Dobson next game.....he's been beyond horrible this entire playoff series. I knew that Nelson goal was going to big the way we were playing all night. LGI!!!! We are going to have to be much better Wednesday night. Varly came up big to hep protect the lead and 3 PP goals gave us just enough of a margin for error to hod on and survive. This series is still a long way from over. We really need to close this thing out on Wednesday. Do not want to have to go back into Boston where they have that last line change.

He is an instigator, draws penalties, gets under your skin, but that guy has a lot of skill. I knew Bergeron and Pasternak were studs, but Marchand is so much better than I thought.

Missed the last two games because of the move. My son had his cable and internet turned off at the old house and has not yet been turned in in the new one. Watched a little of game three streaming on his phone which is not good for my 60 year old eyes. Caught the OT in the hotel and the end of this one. Heading home today, so I don’t intend to miss one moment of any other games. Seems like it was a really strong outing fir our boys last night. Loved the way they locked it down and Bruins did not even get a SOG in the last 6 minutes. After all these 40 shot against games, it was refreshing to see.
LET GO ISLANDERS!!!

Been away for the weekend, helping my son and daughter-in-law move to a new house. Missed most of the game tonight. Got to the hotel with us up 2-1, right after Barzal gave us the lead. Was a thing of beauty the way we had them locked down for those last few minutes. Not sure how the rest of the game went, but those last few minutes were a clinic on protecting a lead.

Fuck yeah! big time for zeeker first goal! best of 3, isles with home ice! Its a series now. Gotta love the fight these guys have shown. Struggled for stretches, but have managed to keep games close and find ways to win. Great bounce back effort tonight in OT after giving up the lead. They played really well in the OT, genereated a lot of opportunities and finally get a break at the blue line and Cizikas buries it. Would have been a little less stress had we just closed it out in the 3rd, but I will take the W however we can get it.

20 good minutes is not enouogh to beat these guys. Hopefully we get enough good minutes in OT to take this one. How about Barzal finally finds the back of the net -- this is when you need your stars.

I just got finished reading an article that indicates the Jets could be major players in the post June 1st Free Agent market with about $20M to spend depending on a few factors. I'm all for spending wisely or even making a run at a big name player. All indications point that Zach Wilson is being groomed to be starting on opening day. However, there is a lot of speculation that if Wilson can't handle it or gets injured the only backups available are Morgan and White. It seems some people want to spend money to sign a veteran. I'm taking the opposite position, why spend money on some veteran journey man to lose games that Morgan and White would lose if pressed into service? I say roll with the youngsters, Wilson, White and Morgan and save the money to improve the team. Do not sign some veteran who would do little if nothing other than collect a pay check. If Morgan or White can prove in the preseason that they are capable of running and NFL offense, then fine, go with the young back-up. But if they can't, we need a guy who can run an offense so it is not a wasted season for all of the young players on that side of the ball. We need someone who can read a defense, set protections, avoid a rush, know when to take a shot and when to check down. I don't want this to be a lost season for Becton, AVT, Moore, Mims, Carter, Johnson, etc., which it will be if Zach either goes down or is not ready we don't have a competent NFL level QB. We all saw what happened two years ago when Luke Falk tried to run an offense.

What has happened to this team?
We have one line, cannot get out of our own end, can't kill penalties and play most of the games on our heels in the defensive zone. If Sorokin is not at his best, we can't win. Sorokin was not great last night, but at some point, he needs the other 18 guys to step up and help him out. 28 shots against per game in the regular season and nearly 40 in the playoffs. Skewed a little bit by the two OT games, but still, this is not Islander hockey. They need to bounce back in game 2.

I love this from a Penguins site
Take 8 goals away from anyone in a short series and they probably lose. lol.
