There's no way we have $11M in cap left. Counting the set aside for the draft we're at $14M. That doesn't include Cro, Gilchrist, Colon and Purdum cap hits. Definitely could free up cap by cutting some more guys if necessary, but we're pretty good where we stand. EDIT: Responded to the wrong post. We could still do a deal for Shorts or Spiller and a blocking TE like Pascoe IMO. I said they have about 11 million remaining, not including the draft picks. Sorry. You're right. Read it wrong. My mistake. So you're saying Cro, Gilchrist, Colon and Purdum will take up about $8.6M in cap space? Sounds about right. Which means we realistically have about $6M left (deducting the draft) before we need to make any cuts. Great offseason.

They're trying to keep Clay even with Cameron? WTF. 2 TE sets with Wallace, Landry and Stills are going to be tough to defend. Dolphins are loading up. Good thing we have like 12 DBs The AFC East is getting pretty scary

It will mess up with the Phins gameplanning. They won't see it coming and won't know how to adjust. No. LOL. VTN with a double "No." in this thread for a win. Simple but accurate way to shutdown trolling. REP given.

You are probably looking at about 11M in cap room right now, give or take a million or so. You could sign a couple more vet minimum guys if need be. Rookies will eat up about 5M in cap room. Would be awesone to add Shorts/Johnson for around $3-4 million per and maybe add an inline TE like Spaeth or Pascoe. There's no way we have $11M in cap left. Counting the set aside for the draft we're at $14M. That doesn't include Cro, Gilchrist, Colon and Purdum cap hits. If we don't sign a safety in FA or the draft, I expect Allen to be the starting FS this year. Expect to see 3 safety looks with Pryor and Allen both playing SS/LB hybrid role, assuming they can find a FS to play centerfield. Don't think Jarrett is that guy but he may be the best they have. Agreed. Still hoping the Rahim Moore deal set the framework for Gilchrist to accept 4/$12M. If the Redskins don't overpay and the same money is on the table, I think he'd pick the Jets.

The 49ers have gone from contenders to full blown rebuild during the course of one offseason. Wow.

Have we forgotten about Antonio Allen? Where does he fit now? Current safeties include Allen, Pryor, Jarrett, correct? If we don't sign a safety in FA or the draft, I expect Allen to be the starting FS this year.

That's pretty funny, but truthfully $8M/year for Cro is way too much considering he made $3.5M last year.
Hopefully the contract is structured well.

One of the best parts of this is that Rex is probably up in Buffalo cursing out Idzik right now.

If its 8 million this year, I think that leaves us with about 10 million in cap space for any other free agents. (Draft allocation already deducted) That's not correct. We have $19.6M right now not counting Colon, Cro, Purdum and the draft. $14M when deducting the draft. If Cro's deal is $8M this year (there's no way cause that would be a terrible deal), then the cap would be at $6M (w/ draft deduction) not including Colon or Purdum cap hits. Realistically, Cro's deal is probably $6M against the cap, Colon's is probably $870K, so we're looking at probably $7.13M left - Purdum's cap hit. We'll know for sure when contract details come out later.

I love the Thread Title: The Most Egregious Case of Tampering Ever So, an owner is baited into making one comment about a former player with whom the team has a long (tortured) history, and this is the Most Egregious Case of Tampering Ever? What a bunch of crybabies. They just won their 5th Fucking SB and they are whining about losing a 30 year old CB to a $70 million ($39 million guaranteed) contract? Really!? Are they actually surprised that they lost Revis over money? Do they actually know anything about Revis and contracts? Perhaps they should be more upset with a front office that seemed ill prepared for this likely scenario. They freed up a ton of money at CB by not keeping Revis and Browner and they've done shit to fill the void. Whoa whoa whoa...4th super bowl. Let's not get crazy here. 4th tainted Super Bowl. Let's keep things in perspective here.

Initially I had Chip is Crazy as the third line, but decided to be nice and erase it. I agree though. Something not quite right down in philly.
