You guys are nuts. He's a Super Bowl champion, and one of the most prolific passers in the past decade. I'd take him in a heartbeat. Favre 2.0 Was working out well for us until his arm fell off and he continued playing.

Interesting. That's basically the same type numbers as Brandon Marshall, right? I wonder who people would rather have, Marshall or Johnson? Marshall

That's a lot of carries to spread around if they sign him. Murray, Matthews, and Sproles. I don't quite understand what Chip Kelly is doing. Let McCoy go, signed Matthews and now he's interested in Murray? Bizarre. Just like his anouncement this morning that someone offered him a 1st round pick for Bradford

Yes. There's no need to extend Mo till next year. I believe we'll have something like $35M - $40M in cap space in 2016 (at least that was what it was before FA this year).

If I am not mistaken, don't we have to spend most of our $ due to the new CBA? Correct The "89-percent rule" mandates that teams spend 89 percent of their salary-cap dollars over a four-year period -- 2013 to 2016. The Jets spent 81.16% over the last 2 years. 2013: $101,549,147 2014: $106,230,662 Last year's cap was $133 million. This year's cap is $143 million. Next year it will increase again. So, according to the NFLPA, the Jets have to spend an average of about $141 million over the next two seasons to be in compliance with the 89-percent rule. God the constant ball washing of the Flats* is pathetic. I bet this "source" thinks Chimdi Chekwa will be an All-Pro too. Revis 2.0

Over the cap has us with $22.3 million cap space -- updated with the Skrine and Powell signings. Assume we will be around $18 million after Carpenter numbers are included. Yup. Probably right around $12M all together with the Carpenter hit and $6M for the draft set aside.

That's insane. Means we saved a lot of cap from the estimate of $4M - $6.25M Mac is the man. $1.5 million salary, $750,000 pro-rated from his signing bonus plus the $2 million roster bonus for this year. That's a cap hit of $4.25 million which is the low end of what we thought. Still good though. He's cuttable after year 2 with a $1.5 million dead hit and $4.5 million savings. Thank you. Could've swore the reason for bonuses were to avoid using cap space, but that's definitely not the case. Looks like $4.25M against the cap it is.

Only $1.5mil this year for Skrine. We've still got some work to do This is insane and an excellent deal. Mac is proving to be the man. Saved a little cap now from the estimates. Didn't realize bonuses count towards the cap. Editing now.

Adam Schein is hands down the biggest tool of the NFL.com staff writers. Absolutely brutal to listen to on SNY as well. Don't care one bit what he says/thinks. Yeah his logic is weird - it wasn't worth signing Revis because we're only going to go 7-9 anyway. We'll see about that He's on a show aptly titled "Loudmouths." He's nothing but a loudmouth.

Who's going to play FS? Gilchrist isn't really the type. Cro moving? Milliner/McDougle making a move? Shit, maybe Kyle Burnt Toast Wilson would make a good FS like Dwight Lowery did. also, any info on Spiller? really would like to get him on that offense. Jarrett and Allen are both FS. Gilchrist can also play FS. I think Allen can excel at FS. He was playing CB out of position last year because of all the injuries/no talent at CB.
