Bro, those days are LONG GONE. Thank the fuckin Clintons and Reagan and the Bushes for that shit. WTF can't you people see this shit?! It drives me nuts. It. Is. Not. Like. That. Any. More. Its not like that because trade agreements moved the manufacturing jobs off shore, now they are using H1B visas to bring in slave labor in the middle tier and offshoring for all the other jobs. Bernie isn't going to fix that. As for the kids being able to find jobs, my step daughter is 19 and has been able to get jobs at day cares, coffee shops, etc which are helping pay her way through college. There are tons of jobs. Drive down the street and look at all the businesses hiring. Millennials just feel they are entitled to be directors the day they feel like applying because the are so fucking entitled. Baloney. This whole millenial's being lazy thing is bullcrap. Every generation says it about the next. Part time barista jobs with no benefits ain't going to bring back the middle class.

The jobs for the middle class are shit bc our manufacturing sector is shit. This country was at its strongest when we were making things.
But that is a poison pill. We start making things and prices go up. American workers demand American wages and benefits. An iPhone built here could cost $2k. Nobody is willing to pay that. Its not the 1%'s fault.
And NOBODY is fixing that. Free college isnt going to fix that. Double our debt in the next 4 years under Bernie isnt going to fix that. Its all just pipe dreams.
We need to fundamentally change how we do things. Start kids on the track to careers EARLY in school. No more coddling and birthdays = diplomas. Give people real skills. And even that wont enough. It still will be very hard. But the handouts and finger pointing havent worked. I would argue they have made things worse.
We can confiscate all the money those evil 1%'s have and give all the baristas and burger flippers a raise but eventually that will dry up too. What we are doing now is unsustainable.

and there in lies the reason we are where we are. Why is it society's problem to handle those who wont go to work. I grew up on food stamps and welfare, free lunch etc. NOTHING changed until I got a job. A local job at the corner delicatessen. The guy liked my mom, offered me a sweeping job. I was 14. there I met men who worked in all walks of life. It gave me perspective. I met their CPA. Changed the course of my future. I was a dumb fuck. Went to a community college because my grades were so bad. At 19 or so I got very excited to better myself. I worked EXTREMELY hard. The individual who looks to government will never achieve their full potential. Those in government dont under stand this so they coddle them on how to get even more benefits. The bottom 10 percent of society needs help, no question. We should help. But We now have 50 percent of Americans paying in nothing. We all have our Horatio Alger story chooch, but those are the old days. The jobs for the middle class are shit now,no matter the education. in one generation we've gone from the ability to raise a family on middle class job. Now? Two full time jobs....if you can find them, is the minimum. You can't save an enconomy by everyone going to college and working hard, yOu need a strong middle class...which is disappearing. yEs there are a number of lazy ass losers sucking off the teat of gubmit, but there are millions of hard working, educated folks who are simply way under-employed. Look no further than Ford....(is there a more "American company?) moving plants to Mexico. It's not that Ameicans won't work, it's just that American companies don't really want to pay them anymore. Why? Because it will please stockholders...you know...the 1%. Really??? The future is over? Every client I have complains they cant find good technicians, electricians, plumbers etc. there is a lot of good work out there. A LOT.

Kids spend 2-4 hours a day on their Iphone, can barely read and write. THAT becomes the problem. Every top company cmplians they cant hire enough talented workers. My nephew graduated West Virgini at age 21. 3 job offers none lower than $65,000 in the south. Why? he majored in engineering. His company needs technicians. ABout 6 months of training. Kids wont do it.

You can be anything you want to be, someone left out the "if you do the work to get there part".

Sigh, if we are going to decide the middle class is disappearing because those damn kids are lazy today we will never address the root causes.

Sigh, if we are going to decide the middle class is disappearing because those damn kids are lazy today we will never address the root causes. Who said it was bc of the kids? Almost all of us said lack of manufacturing and outsourcing of jobs and people choosing bad career paths. The perpetually entitled and grieved millennials are just one of reasons why it will never make a comeback.
