We still on this millennial thing? Lets just say there are some good ones but the younger they are the worse they are. Again, Ive played with, lived with and learned with them going on 30 years. Nobody is going to tell me that the selfish, spineless ingrates are the minority. Its a generation of followers that get their sense of worth from people other than themselves. They were raised with the instant gratification of the internet and coddling parents. Where an "unfriend" or a "dislike" on social media could send them into a literal death spiral. For ever brave millennial that served this country I could show you 5 that are just drones that eventually just be dead weight for the rest of us to carry. And of course there have been shitty people before this generation. As long as there has been and will be people there will be shitty people. We have just gotten better at making them I suppose. Your experiences/perspective may be based on where you grew up. I'm 29 which would put us at just about the exact same age, and I have a brother who is 25, and I'll be the first to refute your stance. There are a bunch of shitheads, lazys, entitleds, and fratty fuckboys in our generation. Just as there were in every other generation, ever. On the flip side, we also are one of the brightest, most creative, and technologically proactive generations in quite some time. Our generation is just now starting to come into our prime...where we've all finished undergrad and worked for a while, or are finishing our post grad training and coming into the work force as doctors and lawyers and engineers. Give it some time. To judge a generation based on the younger people who haven't had a chance to come out of their youth is short sighted.

I'm sorry but I deal with millenials all of the time and do not find them particulary bright at all. They think they are smart, but aren't in any traditional sense. In fact, they are pretty ignorant and no nothing about life or history. If by technologically proactive you mean glued to a smart phone and counting facebook "friends" as a real relationship, then yes, they are great at that. Sorry, I just don't see the greatness.

Don't bother. He has none. Not an iota of knowledge on the subject. Pretty obvious the guy has never been a business owner, and hasn't a clue how the economy functions. If I had the knowledge that a $15 minimum wage was coming, there's no chance I would have taken the gamble to start my business. It would have tipped the scale of risk enough for me and many others looking to break in to not do it. That's no way to grow an economy. If that had come about during my first year of business, we would have incurred severe losses (market not amenable to raise the price of our product) and we would have closed shop instead of continuing on. Not only would my employees all be out of work, but my life savings would have been vanquished. Study after study proves how damaging the wage increase is. None if it matters to the ignorant masses who never employed a person ever, simply because it sounds nice. These idiots seem to think small businesses rack up huge profits, when in reality many of them are barely getting by or are losing money. Lets watch the areas of the country where minimum has been enacted and see what happens I've started 2 businesses. One I sold and the one I own now. I've never paid anyone minimum wage to begin with. If you cant afford to pay someone a living wage, you need to take second look at your business plan. Here 600 dudes who have no problem with it. www.epi.org/minimum-wage-statement/

You "deal" with them. I am one. Maybe the ones you 'deal' with are more a reflection on where you are in life - what choices did you make in life that have relegated you to having to 'deal' with bratty, ignorant poorly educated young people who have their nose stuck in their iphone checking out facebook all day? And why do you feel it necessary to throw your modicum view over all millennials? I can tell you right off the bat that you're wrong about facebook. The majority of active facebook users (active signifying one or more post a day on FB) are actually post-millennials, followed by GenX. Go ahead and look it up if you'd like. I'll wait. In the meantime, as I said earlier, give it some time. To judge a generation based on the younger people who haven't had a chance to come out of their youth is incredibly short sighted, and ironically, ignorant.

Now come shine my shoes. has your generation put a man on the friggin moon yet? oh....we got facebook. big fuckin deal. we got the bank crash because the morons pumping derivatives didn't understand risk. care to say what your generation had in that fiasco? maybe not directly but there sure seem to be an awful lot of genx and millenials working on wall street and in banks and not having a clue. true enough every generation has their fair share of lazy shitheads but yours has been severely disadvantaged by the educational system that you were brought up in. the education HAS been going down hill since the creation of the dept of education in all phases and grades. things like title IX, while they sound fair has done nothing but increase the cost of compliance and swell the administration ranks of colleges and universities. and the libtards have been using title IX to force our universities to change all manner of policies. remember the initial intent was to force universities to have equivalent women's athletic teams to the men's teams. and by the way, the basics of the technology that the moron zuckerberg used to make facebook was created in the 70's by the guys with the friggin slide rules.

You have to wonder what generation raised these kids as well, they def made these kids feel entitled and self-important. The majority are good kids and are doing great things as well. You "deal" with them. I am one.

Lol threatened much? Not sure why you got your panties all bunched up. I never once said millennials were a greater generation. Simply, I stated that just like every other generation, we have the good and the bad. To judge us based on young people who are just now entering the workforce and adulthood is pretty short sighted. Also, attempting to pin the fallout of the housing crisis, artificially inflated derivatives market, or the lack of a legit K-12 public education on a generation who is just now turning 30 is...well...stupid. That's GenX and Baby Boomers. I assure you, in '02 when the internet bubble burst and millennians were between 14-18, or '06 with subprime mortgages, or '08 derivatives crash when most millennials were between 20-24 years of age, we weren't responsible.

Right, the generation that raised us to be that way gets to push the blame to us, and us millennials are to stand up and take accountability. It's our fault that as children and young adolescents, we didn't push away our parents spoiling us rotten and showering us with stupid parenting techniques.

........understanding that more people need opportunities and tools to reach their potential. So please spare us that bullshit. What tools and opportunities are you proposing then? And what do we, as a society, do with people whose potential simply isn't very high? Relocation to west Virginia and Alabama. Next question

They turned on our boys when they got back from Vietnam and openly supported the North Vietnamese during the war. They were a spoiled, rotten, miserable generation. Should have been brought up on treason charges the way they treated the vietnam vets.

Not only is it proving a failure, but even if it had worked, do you really think what happens in a major metro area like that translates to rural and suburban areas all over the country? I don't pay minimum wage either, but I can tell you for certain that I have only 1 employee that is worth $15/hour. They'd all agree, which is why they have the salary they agreed to. Pretty idiotic statement that paying this fictional "living wage" to every employee should be incorporated into a good business plan. I don't even know where to start with that one. I don't think my brain can function on a level that low. But tell me more about 600 people who did NOT say they were ok with a $15 federal minimum wage.
