read his book "A Billion Years" about his life in/escape from scientology
was interesting

Seemed like a pretty safe, squared away beach town. On the cab ride back to the airport, the driver was pointing out a bunch of empty buildings and storefronts that were bought by the Scientologists and just sitting there unused. Was disappointing since we enjoyed the town. |

Listening to the audio book of The Anti-Communist Manifesto by Jesse Kelly. It is kind of interesting and has some good sarcastic snark in it. Nothing groundbreaking.
To be fair to both sides I am also working through AOC's book but I need to buy more crayons to finish coloring it.

I listened to "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life: A Sortabiography" by Eric Idle from Monty Python. If you are a fan of Python it is a good read until the last 10 minutes of the book when he has to virtual signal and shoe horn in a political rant with no substance against Trump and his supporters. It was so out of place compared with the rest of the book I almost wonder if the publisher or someone told him to add it.
Also just read the first Jack Reacher book. The new show was pretty true to the book except there are a lot of things that wouldn't have worked in the show unless they set it in the 90s when the book was written like being surprised someone has a cell phone.

SInce I'm a true crime junkie, I read Killers of the Flower Moon before knowing Scorcese was gonna do a movie. Crazy story. My Bro said the movie was good. Not as good as the book but still worth it. I thought the book was excellent. I haven't seen the movie. |
