So with Vickerson, Brewer and the rookies, sounds like we're left with about $4M?

So with Vickerson, Brewer and the rookies, sounds like we're left with about $4M? I think $4M - $4.5M (w/o any other signings or cuts) seems accurate assuming: 1) minimal cap hits (around $600K - $750K each) for Vickerson and Brewer and 2) setting aside $5.5M for the draft w/ no trades.

Filling a G spot was more of a priority then signing a Tackle....we just signed Breno last season and Brick still has some game left... Just find a guy to groom in the mid rounds Can't believe no one picked up on this!

There have been a bunch of additions signing and resigning, since the last update. I'm guessing we're down to 4 cents left in cap dollars , not counting rookies.

Sportrac has us at $9.2 million -- before the signings of Brewer, Hilliard, Ijalana and Lattimore. Not much room left considering we will need about $6 mil for rookies, but there are also going to be some training camp cuts -- no way we are keeping all of these linemen and DBs on the 53.

Deducting cost for the rookie class, that leaves about $2.6 million for those 4, and anybody else. (not counting cuts of course). Can they go into camp over?

During the offseason, only the 51 highest salaries count against the cap, so teams can go over (provided the top 51 are within the cap). By the team the season starts, salaries for all players (53, PS, IR, etc) needs to be below the cap. Good thing that the NFL keeps this stuff simple and straightforward. I believe that Sportrac number is for the Top 51.

I believe that Sportrac number is for the Top 51. It is. The Top 51 number is $146.9M out of the $156.1M we're allowed, so $9.2M (not counting the 4 outstanding contracts and the draft). FWIW, OTC has the Top 51 at $143.8M out of the $155.6M we're allowed, so $11.8M (not counting the 4 outstanding contracts and the draft).
