Trade him. Good player but nowhere near the God-level that some here place him. Wouldn't go any higher than the Atkins deal for him. Get the fuck outta here with that. Mo has been the anchor of this defense since Revis left he is like a queen on a chess board on this dline can play at any spot and has never been a distraction. Mo's best years are ahead of him he's just entering his prime. I do think he should be there but Jets spent $149 on a secondary highlighted by Revis & Cromartie who have probably 3-4 good years left. Bottom line PAY THE MAN!!!!!

Isn't it voluntary workouts? I believe they are, and also he's coming off the injury at the end of the year. I think he will answer the bell when it time to come in and get serious. Hopefully, he gets a fair contract, or as indicated earlier in the thread, the franchise tag is an option.

So people are flipping out that he isn't showing up to VOLUNTARY camp? The media is portraying it out to be some major statement. When haven't those douchebags tried to stir the pot? This is an issue if he chooses to skip mandatory mini camp and/or training camp. Otherwise people here are jumping the gun with the trade him rally cries.

it's plenty obvious that wilk wants his contract upped. and rightly so. the thing is if he does hold out, assuming they can't get something done before training camp, then he runs the risk of injury during the season. that should be reason enough for wilk to report to camp on time and in shape. the fuss about missing the voluntary camp is a little much though he should be there if only to show solidaity with the new coach and his team.

“Muhammad will not be attending the Jets voluntary workouts that began today. Muhammad has been engaged in a workout program with his personal trainer since February, and believes that continuing with his current program and believes that continuing with his current program will put him in the best physical shape for the 2015 season.” – Chad Weisling (Mo’s Agent)
Aka chill the fuck out

This is a reactionary comment; if they want to allay any concerns they would've led with this early in the news cycle. Pretty sure they knew the start of voluntary OTAs. As an aside, yes, they're voluntary. Which means one of the self-proclaimed leaders of the team should be setting a good example by voluntarily being there.
