I don't know what to make of Brock. If Elway was impressed, he's be signed sealed and delivered by now. Not sure if any good. Pay Fitz for 2016 and draft a prospect.

Last year was our chance to win big with Fitz. That chance is now gone and, with a tougher schedule and key players set to leave through FA, it's important that we don't overpay to keep Fitz. We need to think long-term.
Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and want to see him stay. But not at Bradford money or anything near it.
If he gets a massive offer in FA and leaves, then good luck to him. But I'm not sure which team out there is waiting to offer Fitz $14M a year in free agency.
Offer him what you think is fair, but if he gets a better offer, move on with Petty, Geno, a possible lower level FA vet and a draftee.

2015 was fun. Best offense I have ever seen as a Jets fan. But our window may have already closed. The schedule is brutal. On paper we would be lucky to win 6 games next year even with Fitz. We should make an honest effort to bring him back but I dont think we should bend over.
If Fitz walks and we use the money to keep Snacks and Wilk then I wont complain one bit. Let Geno and Petty battle in camp with some other veteran.

If he and his agent are asking for a contract close to Bradford -- you have to let him test the market. If the market does not value him that high, maybe we still get him back on a more reasonable deal. If not, I hope Macc has a Plan B -- although I have no idea what that could be at this point.

Why is this a surprise? Our FO knows the true value of this guy.
I'm very impressed with Macc for not giving in to public demand and pressure and overpaying.

Seems to me that the deal the Eagles did with Bradford was borne out of desperation. I wouldn't entertain thoughts of taking Osweiler away from the Broncos. Manning is done in Denver and Osweiler is the succession plan. Whatever his agent commands, the Broncos will pay or he'll be unaffordable to both the Broncos and the Jets. I think Fitzpatrick has been around the NFL long enough to realise that simply because one team made a boneheaded deal with a QB doesn't necessarily mean that his current employer will be sucked into making a similarly boneheaded deal with him. For one thing, Fitzpatrick has been around the league longer than Bradford so all potential 32 employers are well aware of his warts. He's comfortable within the Jets system under Gailey and he would appreciate that the Jets have a veteran set of wide receivers who can make him look good. I hope that counts for a lot. unfortunately thats how markets are set, especially in sports...

Not surprised at all at Fitz hitting the market.
Jets won't overpay to keep him from hitting FA, but will happily pay him a fair contract if he doesn't get blown away with a huge FA deal.
If he does go...say hello to an RG3, a Chase Daniel, or a heroic return for Drew Stanton.
