Hopefully Seattle loses to Carolina so we can officially hire Quinn and have as much time as possible to land the best OC available. Man, I really do loathe Scam Newton, but I'd gladly welcome him going full Superman on Seattle tonight. Get Mac in place tonight and make a formal offer to Quinn asap. Ain't happening fellas Would be the hugest upset in a long time. Carolina was never very good and now they're missing Lotuleilei which makes Koechly a lot less effective

True, plus it's not really that big of a deal if the Jets have to wait for Seattle to be done with their playoff run to "officially" announce Quinn as their HC. I get that the fans may get antsy, but deals are made well before they can officially be announced. Hopefully the Jets announce Maccagnan as GM today or tomorrow, then next week we should start seeing some of these HC vacancies start being filled. And it's not the worst thing in the world to get a coach who's gone deep into the playoffs (if not SB)

link As long as they bring in someone strong with experience to work with him on the negotiation/contract/cap management issues, I'll be fine with it. But he is raw. He is green and no matter how much folks here ignore that, it IS a risk to a degree. Thanks. (Looks like the article is from NYDN, but it's not loading) I think that's why Dominik's name keeps coming up as someone Quinn wants up in the front office. Dominik, for the most part, was a solid GM, with the reputation of being a firm but good negotiator. Perhaps he is a good contract/cap guy as well and would help Maccagen, Quinn and Woody manage the financials and contracts. Sad for him that he will most be remembered by the awful Revis deal he made with Idzik and the Jets, but that was more of an anomaly than typical for him. There's really no way to live that one down and he lost his job mainly because of it.

Fact is, Maccagnan doesn't have the resume for this job. General Manager is a huge jump up from Director of College Scouting. Doesn't mean that he couldn't do an adequate job and grow into the role, just saying that hiring him would be a reach. I will say that I really won't complain about almost anyone that Casserly and Wolf recommend, they add some major cred to this search. But if he goes defense with our 1st round pick....gonna be pissed He's been assistant GM in Houston for the past couple years. Thanks, I didn't know that

Heard on Kay and LaGrecca that Marrone really sh*t the bed on his interview. Any specifics? Like where the info is coming from? And what did he do/say that was bed-shitty? Westoff was on and said he heard 2 stories... 1st story was the interview went bad. 2nd story he heard was the interview went terribly bad, like Marrone went in and bragged that he beat the Jet's twice so why would they not want to hire him. Here say but sounds like sh*tting the bed to me.
