i think 12-4 is achievable. the division will need at least one win against the patsies. hopefully they'll get two. and it will mean they stay injury free and they continue to play 60 minutes each game. there is just too much season left to even start thinking playoffs though. the jets never seem to be able to stand prosperity. i still remember 85 when they started 10-1 and finished 10-6.

As I said in the matchday thread there are better backs out there but his style of running is so great it just lifts the energy of the whole team. Over the years I think there are two positions that the Jets have been very fortunate/good at spotting talent at; RB and MLB. Freeman McNeil, Johnny Hector, even Brad Baxter unstopabble at short yardage, Curtis Martin, Thomas Jones, Chris Ivory maybe even LT and those are the only the ones I've watched myself without mentioning Matt Snell or the older guys. With the exception of Thomas Jones and obviously Baxter as a fullback all of the other guys were finesse guys. The way Ivory just punishes the defense every down makes even a hu-hum 3 yard gainer something to get pumped up about. Hope he lasts thru the season. boozer and riggins weren't too shabby either.

another thing about ivory is that he has a good effect on the other backs like powell and stacy. stacy was running harder than usual in sunday's game. obviously some of that is because ivory softened them up but he didn't run that hard against philly when they needed him. also, the injury problems seem to fade away when a player is rolling good like ivory is. ivory wants the ball and wants to stay in games and so he will tend to shake off injuries as he gains confidence.
the bottom line is he is playing great and is a large part of the reason they are 4-1. here's to hoping he busts a few patsies on sunday.

as i see it, one of the biggest challenges will be getting the special teams to play well. last week's blocked punt was just poor execution and if the jet defense plays to potential, there are going to be quite a few punts by both teams. i'm not so worried about fitz. he needs to make good, quick throws . obviously ivory will need to break a few. once he gets into the secondary the patsie morons will learn what t's like to get hit. both marshall and decker should be able to have their way with the patsie corners but that will take a good pass protection. defensively, they need to hit brady early and often. one way to help is to take away the patsie crossing pick plays. maybe the jet secondary needs to flop like they do in nba games.

I hope someone shreds his rotator cuff. Preferebly on a freak play of his own doing as he dives in fear at the sight of the rush per usual. i'm not wishing any player gets....well maybe edelman....uh ....and........brady could use some games off.

this only happens if the refs call a straight game which means, they assess the patsies for holding and pick plays. exactly and that's the key. But we will have to beat them as they are openly cheating. totally agree. we know the patsies are going to come out fired up. brady is going to want to score early and often. it will be up to the jets to knock him down early and often. if they do that and keep the score close at the half it will be a jet win.

it looks like he had a decent rookie season with the patsies. he's big enough to block too. we shall see.

jets 33 patsies 14 the jets manage to withstand an early patsie flourish and keep them out of the end zone during their first half. they take a lead on a decker td going into the half. in the second half adjustments by the jet defense force tommy boy to cough up the ball twice on strip sacks, one of which is run back for a td by revis. the second strip sack leads to a jet td as fitz tests the patsie secondary and connets with a streaking devin smith. the patsies try to pass but the jet defense and matador pass protection for numerous miscues by brady and he is taken out. garafalo leads to patsies to two late td's. folk closes out the scoring with a late fg.
this only happens if the refs call a straight game which means, they assess the patsies for holding and pick plays.

Did Smith play against the Redskins? Yes. Out there for 16 snaps. No targets, obviously. He was open once I recall when a throw went outside to Decker. Not a knock on Fitz, as it has worked for the most part, but he locks in on guys a lot, Marshall especially, and misses other guys open. but with good reason, no? when ivory is running so well there will be only so many passes. marshall got 11, decker had more than 5, ivory had a couple. that doesn't leave many for smith. he needs to be patient and either plan for catching shorter passes or hope the jets get a qb who throw 40 yards on a rope.

Top secondaries in the NFL? ? Revis is old, slow and fat. How many times did he get beat yesterday? Cromartie absolutely sucks. Pryor has no clue how to cover and he couldn't tackle ff2 carrying a dozen cream filled donuts. This is when you're annoying. Taking a perfectly good thread and turn it into schtick central. patsfantx and the other trolls are scared the patsies are going to get beat. after that near debacle last night, anyone can see why.
