Absolutely right.
Or...maybe he just got fired because he sucks and his boss knew it, and not because of a lame-ass billboard some clown with too much time on his hands put together.
It's definitely one or the other though.

Nice find. Look at at all the open space around that fucktard. I know there's no such a thing as a career-ending drop, but this is about as close as it gets.

Today's SportsNation poll. The entire country, including Florida, thinks he'll most likely be a bust.... The globe off the right also in yellow makes this even funnier. They think Jameis Winston sucks in Bangladesh.

I still don't understand how Stephen Hill was such a bad player. I mean, he got drafted in the second round. What the hell caused him to decline as quickly as he did? Saying there was a decline implies there was an incline...which there wasn't. He was just a project that never developed. All the necessary physical tools with the lone exception of the ability to play football.

Pass on Weis - guy has done nothing of note without SparklePony as his QB. Like the idea of Trestman if it falls through with Tampa or Jax. Last year aside, what he got out of Cutler and McCown in '13 was top-notch. Really? Guess you don't remember his work with the Jets. Or with KC. Pats* without SparklePony. ND. Hes always been a really good OC. At the Jets when Parcells took away his playcalling duties? At the Pats when they were terrible before Brady? At ND where outside of '06 the team was a constant letdown (ND alums would back me up)? I'll give you his one year in KC, but it's not like they were a top-10 offense then either. I just think the guy has been massively overrated because of the three rings. Guess I've just never been impressed - for me it's good to see he's not in the picture.

Ryan is expected to get a second interview in Atlanta when they bring in finalists for their head coaching job. - Rapaport Good for Rex. I know his time was up here, but get the feeling we'll have a little envy of his situation in Atlanta in about a year. There was no doubt that Herm & Mangini were not long for the sideline, but it feels different with Rex.

LOL at all the Idzik ball washers taking a shit on Mike T. The guy put the most successful Jets team together since the SB and people still can't give the guy credit. Yeah, he made mistakes, all GMs do. Why is this always 1 vs other with you guys? I'm happy both of them are gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tanny was 10x better GM then Idzik but that isn't saying much.... Exactly. They both sucked. I'd prefer Tanny over Idzik, but in the way that I'd prefer malaria over tuberculosis.

Trestman sounds like he is going to Tampa or Jacksonville. However, Dan Quinn has ties to Charlie Weiss due to their time together at Florida. Quinn as Head Coach Weiss as Offensive Coordinator A coach of Quinns choice as DC (Maybe Dunbar if we keep him) Sign me up for that shit tomorrow. Pass on Weis - guy has done nothing of note without Brady as his QB. Like the idea of Trestman if it falls through with Tampa or Jax. Last year aside, what he got out of Cutler and McCown in '13 was top-notch.

So all we need to do is acquire a franchise quarterback and then draft a second franchise quarterback to learn behind the first one. Seems easy enough. Might not work but you must keep trying Can anyone who makes the argument of "draft a QB every year until you get one" point to a team that actually did it successfully? Not saying it hasn't happened, but I damn sure can't think of a team that did it. Two of the top-10 QBs in this league (Brady and Romo) were complete late round / UDFA luck, and the rest of them were drafted when their teams either had NO young QB of note or an established veteran who was on his way out. Closest example is Brees / Rivers, but when Rivers was drafted, Brees was in Sanchez territory with the fan base. Why do people think drafting a QB every year is a sound strategy - how do you develop two young guys?

So what if he does go back to school, and Mariotta's stock drops, and he falls to #6. "Next up on the clock, the NY Jets" What do you do? Take him? A big factor in this would be... Who is the coach? What is the offensive philosophy? But for me the answer is easy: pass. Take someone else or trade the pick. If this so-called can't miss prospect is dropping to 6, perhaps he'd be better suited dropping further to 7. Let him be someone else's regret. This right here, especially if Winston foregoes the draft. If QB-needy teams pass on a guy who already has what can be viewed as a "gimmicky" skill-set, I'll be incredibly nervous if the Jets take him at 6 as the first QB selected. Quick-screens and read options are not the way to win ball games in the NFL. Not saying that's all Mariotta has, but have we seen enough outside of that to warrant a pick this high?

Blank would be wise to go with his gut. He is a self-made guy and should trust his instints. Let Rex come in and inject some personality and balls into that franchise. Sell some PSLs for your new stadium and give him a 3 year window to win it all. If it doesn't work then blow it up after that. I don't think Rex is a 10 year coach. His star burns bright but also burns out fasgand outide of DL he isn't much of a evaluator/cultivator/developer of talent. I agree with everything here except the bold. Even though it clearly didn't work out here, I bet Rex has taken enough lessons learned that, mixed with his personality, will allow to be a long-time coach in this league. The Falcons did not show up in that season-ending loss to Carolina. If Rex is the coach of that team, I just can't see them getting steamrolled the way that they did. Showing up was rarely the issue with this team (45-3 not withstanding of course). It was execution, which I think plagued the Jets more than most other franchises during Rex's tenure since the QB rarely did anything to cover up or recover from those mistakes. If he goes to the Falcons, with Matt Ryan already established, I bet he does coach for 10 years. I'm sure plenty may have thought Belidick wasn't a 10-year HC, but he found his QB and now he's 15 years in. As you said, Blank should trust his instincts here. Rex is the right man for that job.
