What is the general feeling about Dadi Nicolas They were talking him up a bit during senior bowl week (or was it shrine week)? I thought he looked craptacular in the few glimpses I had of him.

That's hard to beleive, his injury happened much later in the year than Todd Gurley and Gurley missed the first 4 weeks of the season. Maybe he could start football activity by the beginning of September, but getting him on the field ready to play is another thing. I refuse to believe he plays in 2016. At best, he can resume football activities in what, sept-oct? what's a team to do - rush him back into action for December? A rookie playing a position like Smith's with no practice time or offseason? Forget it, he's bookshelf material next year. Which is also a reason why I don't think he's selected till well past us at #20... Any GM's seat better be awfully comfy if they plan to burn a first round pick on a guy who won't till 2017 and has at least some risk with recovery. And that type of team could very well be the jets to be honest. We have a stable front office and coach and finally i do not think these guys are going to be forced to make dumb moves to save their jobs. (like 50% of the league is each year.) I'm not saying we will or should draft him but we are a team that could draft him if the powers that be think he is that good.

I've heard nice things about Cowser, but I can't find any tape on him. I think Cowser is a 43 DE more so than a 34 OLB . I don't think that kid can play in space . Can he rush the passer? that is the only freakin thing I care about. I'm soooo sick of having olbs that can hold the edge, read the play, try and cover someone (no one can other than Von Miller).

lets go back to what beerfish was saying though... what are really supposed to be doing here about OLB? Who's even really a target? I can't think of anyone honestly that i'm overly interested in past the first round. I think they have to lean on FA to address the Pass-Rush. I just don't see the draft providing a lot of worth while guarantees James Cowser - Southern Utah Curt Magitt - Tennessee Victor Ochi - Stony Brook Yannick Ngakoue - Maryland Jatavis Brown - Akron Kamalea Correa - Boise State Matt Judon - Grand Valley State

Might take Decker instead of Coleman, I know Paradis love him some Coleman and I like him too. I wouldn't go ballistic if we chose him in the 1st. Only major beef is one again not putting a high enough priority on OLB (or ilb for that matter) We MUST upgrade OLB with some true speed.

But, to be fair, It's not as easy to flash for Guards and Tackles during senior bowl week (comparatively), IMO anyway. Yes, there's going to be some that make it look easy, but their position is reactionary and the product of a coaches offensive discipline. This is where we will disagree. I think it's easy for those positions to stand out because of all of the mano y mano and it helps you get a better idea of the overall player because everything is out in the open. Every year a few guys stand out.....this year nothing. Edit: I guess I could say Martin because I don't want to leave him out and he had a good week. And speaking of WR's I wanted Chris Moore to up his game. Fucking kid couldn't even catch a cold this week. Agreed, usually there is one or two tackles or guards that stand out in the one ones, Will have to wait for the combine and the juniors and such.

It would be a ballsy pick for the jets and half the fan base would go all bananas that we didn't take a guy who could step in and play from day one. I agree about most peoples thoughts on petty, has some abilities but hitching your future to a 4th rounder is nuts. As usual depending on who else is there I would not be unhappy with the pick at all. Take a chance on getting at least a long term good qb if not franchise guy.

I really enjoyed watching the game and the level of play was overall really good, far better than just watching practices.
QBs: Really surprised me, some of the lesser talked about guys looked from competent to really good. I thought Wentz looked good as well, 3 flat out drops on great passes.
Oline: Centers and some guard play looked pretty good though the DT's were pretty ferocious, OT is not something you want to be drafting this year. Blech.
RB: No super stars but very good play, most of these guys looked pretty shifty and will play in the NFL.
TE and WR: Meh... A couple guys looked okay but nothing to impressive here.
Dline: As the experts projected this is there the talent is, lots of good looking players, Spence of course was unreal and some team will take him before he gets to us, still worried about his character. The fact that the dline is loased is a good news bad news thing for the Jets. The good news is other teams take dline, leaving other positions for us. The bad news is that we get to #20 and the top 4 guys on the jets board are dline?
LBs: Pretty decent the one dude from temple had just a ton of tackles then got exposed in a one on one vs a back. One dude, blue helmet, boise maybe looked really good.
DBs: Very good, lots of good play here imo.
Pretty general comments as i did not take notes but i was very impressed by the level of overall play for a game filled with all stars that had about 4 days to prepare.

I hope I get blown away by players at the combine because to be honest this is a weak looking draft to me all around. Of course the position that looks to have the most high end depth is interior dline and 4-3 ends.

Myles Jack will be gone by all reports. Jaylon Smith possible but injured Leonard Floyd, some people don't like how thin he is. Darron Lee? Don't know much about him, cbs sports compared him to shazier. Jordan Jenkins? 2nd rounder maybe more of an all around guy than pass rusher? Josh Perry? Noah Spence? Large character risk. Victor Ochi? Small school, small guy gamble?
Anyone have a pet prospect for pass rusher olb?

I think Glenn will command a fair bit of cash, will be a priority Fa or a lot of teams.

I agree. Unless a few particular players are there, the ones you mention for sure or if there is a surprise faller. I really have not liked the look of the players i have falling to the Jets at 20. (Of course I talk about trading down each year and we never do.)

Here are my thoughts on the game: (I avoided looking at other comments before posting this.)
QB: Adams of course was fantastic, really did look like Russell Wilson (when wilson is playing well.) It's not the yardage or the 3 tds that impressed me but the little things he did. Hard count to force an offside, keeping his eyes downfield as the scramble. Looking off DB's and then throwing a fast accurate pass. When he did run got up field fast.
The 5 other Qbs? God awful trash. If you are 6'5" giant with limited mobility you better either be super accurate or have a laser for an arm. All of these guys just sucked imo, Doughty made a few decent plays but those were offset by mind blowingly bad ints. Sudfeld sucked donkey dink. I'll be totally aghast if the jets picked any of those bozos, just garbage.
Oline: Rob will have a better eval of this area. The tackles looked pretty poor, guys getting beat badly. One of the highly touted guys that being the C Glasgow was unimpressive, snapped it a count early almost resulting in a safety, totally whiffed on two plays I watched. The center from U of Calgary looked really good in the 4th quarter.
WR's/TEs: The guy getting the press looked the best (Allison?) but he left a few plays out there. Other than that not much impressed me there.
RB: Competent, Lasco looked pretty good, Ferguson on a few plays, no realy eye openers but a solid crop they all looked decent.
Dline: Ochi was better than advertised for me. When a guy gets off the ball before anyone else on almost every play you have something. You can't teach that kind of quick twitch. Sure, perhaps not an every down guy but he looks totally legit re a pass rusher. Some good interior lineman as well.
LB:s No one stood out head and shoulders, cept the dude that kept blitzing when you cannot blitz.
Secondary: some good looking players there, The dude with 3 names, something something Calhoun made some nice plays. Some other good play back there but some of these guys looked pretty small. The taller WR's were not making them pay for the size match ups.
Kickers: FG kickers sucked, the punters however, id take either one of those guys over quigcrap immediately, especially the A&M kid.
Coaching: Morons, june jones seems to have turned into a total derp. No attempts to get plays in at the end of the half or the game in a good hurry up simulation.
A few real gems out there that is for sure, but a lot of others that are super raw and would have to sit on a psquad for a number of years.
(Now I can go back and look at other peoples comments about the game.)

Gurley was a risky pick, I still maintain it was. RB coming off a major knee injury. I also do not remember many people if anyone blasting the jets for taking williams instead of gurley at the time. As for DGB, we will see how he does a few years from now as his ability was never an issue, his character was. (And for the record I would have been more than fine with taking him with our 2nd rounder and am not afraid to take a Rb in round one. I'd be happy to get Elliot this year.)
