What's all the negativity with Chan Gailey? The guy is a excellent OC. Does anybody remember how good he was as the Steelers OC? He is like Nov Turner terrible coach but a excellent OC. His offense is easy to learn and could really fix Geno if the Jets can't get a decent QB.

Great! We hired a defense coach, with no head coaching experience, in an offense of Lee focus league. To make this hire even better, we hired a defense minded coach who has three of the top quarterbacks in the league right now to replace Rex who only wanted dbs... Not in love with the move. wrong from Wikipedia
Miami Dolphins[edit]
Bowles was hired by the Miami Dolphins as the team's secondary coach and assistant head coach on January 23, 2008. After nearly four seasons as the secondary coach and assistant head coach, he was named the interim head coach on December 12, 2011, following the firing of head coach Tony Sparano. Bowles' first game as interim head coach of the Dolphins came on December 18, on the road against the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins won the game 30-23. The Dolphins finished 2–1 under Bowles in 2011
Its a great hire the guy did a lot with the cards defense and they were missing players. this guy is highly underrated should have been give a chance with the Dolphins.

Good move like the hire. The Guy had a top ranked defense with the injuries the Cardinal defense sustained. Something Rex could never do this guy shows he can make necessary adjustments. I think with Denver in the hunt for Quinn the Jets risk be stuck out in the cold right now coaching the Jets is popular thing in the NFL with Fox turning them down who knows if Quinn would want the Jets to be his first HC job. Bowles has more experience and is a safer pick. Quinn has 2years under carroll Bowles actually ran the defense on his own. Also was a Interim HC I think he was the right hire. Yes I wanted Quinn but after Denver jumped in I realize that waiting for Quinn could screw the Jets big time.

Last night's game showed that Mariota is far from NFL ready. Ohio's defense the closest thing to a NFL defense exposed that he is far from a sure thing in the NFL. If he falls even then you have to really think about it.When I read tripe like the link below it scares me that Woody might be dumb enough to force MM to do it to sell PSL. nypost.com/2015/01/12/next-jets-gm-must-prove-hes-not-idzik-by-getting-mariota/Here we go again with the conspiracy that Woody only cares about selling PSL's. Tired argument. Not a tired argument a fact that would have to be discussed in another thread.

There is no "sure thing" at QB this year or most years. I am not one to say that we should take Mariota, but we do need to find a reliable starting QB somewhere. I agree the jets have to find a viable QB. watching this guy last night is a red flag Ohio has the closest thing to a NFL defense and he looked confused. I like the chance with grabbing Bryce Petty in the mid rounds and bringing in a veteran.

With the Jets luck Quinn will be the Atlanta Head Coach, Bowels will be the 49ers Head Coach and Marrone will get the Bears gig, leaving the old Wood man high and dry. That's why I think they are dropping Quinn and pursuing Bowles. I don't think they want Marrone I think they with Fox leaving teams are lining up for a bidding war over Quinn the Jets don't want to risk it. I see Bowles becoming the next coach.

I think the Jets are hiring Bowles With Denver Bumping Fox and now in the hunt for Quinn now adds another team in the mix a team the Jets never seem to beat they lost Peyton Manning and fear losing Quinn. I've been a fan for 40 years I admit If I was starting my first gig as a head coach the Jets would be at the bottom of my list with all that has happened since Woody took this franchise plus the circus media I have seen many coaches come here and be devoured. Denver less pressure they have a very good prospect in Brock Osweiler yes I said it Osweiler, The guy has 3 years of sitting and learning Was a great prospect out of Arizona reminds me of Flacco. You come into NY not only do you have to deal with all the other Headaches your dealing with no serviceable QB to work with no chance at getting the top 2 QBs this is very risky proposition. The Jets want a good coach not be stuck with a reject like Marrone or McDermott. You wait for Quinn its Quinn or bust if the Jets have no verbal Agreement in place then I cant blame them for jumping on the 2nd best candidate and let the remaining teams fight over Quinn.

Prediction: Buffalo will lead the league in penalties, turnovers, and mismanaged timeouts and clock handling. They will be at the bottom of the league in points scored, red-zone scoring efficiency and overall fan morale. Good luck, Rex. That's exactly what is going to happen. Add in blown leads too. I wont miss him the guy has been hyped by the fan base Tim Tebow coming in here with Denver and shredding Rex with Revis island proves that this guy is an average DC. Been over this guy 3 years ago. Average DC terrible HC.

I'm not as pessimistic as most fans I will say 2 years providing the new GM concentrates on getting a Viable QB to compete and some weapons for the offense. The defense the only weakness is CB but that can be addressed in FA. The defense to me is stacked in the front 7 they are deep at Safety like I said they need a elite CB that to me is the only glaring weakness on the defense. That was the problem with Rex this team spent to much building the defense and left the offense depleted hopefully this GM will retain the current defensive players they have and go all out on the offense. if they do that this team will have a very Quick rebound

Looking forward to this unlike most Jets fans. I see what Rex is an average DC and a terrible HC. Who needs 23 million dollar a year CBs in order to run a defense like I said in another post the guy never mounted a great defense when you see Tim Tebow shredding the defense years ago how many leads the Jets defense gave up over the years. No Rex is nothing great, finally when Buffalo sucks it up and declines I will finally hear silence from all the rexaholics.

Fine with him as well rather have Quinn but if the Jets hired him wouldn't be upset. Just please no Doug Marrone. Only one problem is his health that's only thing I'd be worried about. Remember more stress in NY than Houston.
