I will puke if we get Cousins. I know you’re far from the only person who feels this way, but I still don’t quite understand the sentiment. How would Cousins compare to the other Jets QBs who have thrown for over 4,000 in three straight seasons?

Exactly. Geno has a better arm than either of the other two, not to mention the ability to make plays with his legs. He's not a leader, he's terrible at seizing opportunities, and I doubt he has much of a future in the league. But I'd rather see him or Petty under center in a throw-away season than to see Fitz or Sanchez steal more money from the franchise. And if Hackenberg isn't even a outside consideration in year 2...well it's just more evidence that the Jets should just trade away all of their second-round picks going forward. They are incapable of picking a quality player in that round.WTF are you talking about? Do you even remember Justin Miller? Oh wait, yeah. He sucked. Justin Miller taken AFTER Mike Nugent, also in the second round. This team can't draft there for shit. Alex Van Dyke, Dorian Boose, Clemens, Vlad, Hill, Geno, Amaro and the two from '05. David Harris is probably the only good 2nd-round pick this team has made in over 20 years.

Geno and its not even close. At least with Geno, there is a possibility (however remote) that he may develop into something. The book has been written on the other 2. Exactly. Geno has a better arm than either of the other two, not to mention the ability to make plays with his legs. He's not a leader, he's terrible at seizing opportunities, and I doubt he has much of a future in the league. Go into the season with Forte & Bilal? Can't be serious. Forte seems to be done & should just be on the roster as a reserve if Cook or Fournette can't go 1 week. He's a good mentor type. RB3. His playing days are done though. We wasted literally his last decent playing season. If we could, send him to the Packers or something. Bilal, I like him. He's loyal & been solid over there years. I remember when we drafted him. But now, he's 28 & will be 29 next season. It's time to attack with a replacement now. & with drafting a Fournette or Cook, we can stretch out his playing time left. He's better in a 2back committee anyway. I agree with most of this. There really isn't a need for a "mentor" at RB though. It isn't a position like QB where you learn intricacies of the game from the veteran...while I'm sure there's some of that, there's a reason why most RBs have their best years earlier in their career - it's an instinct position and you either have it or you don't. Either Forte has a year left or he doesn't - if the former then I'm okay with him and Powell for one more year. If not, let him go. My preference is Powell and a (starting caliber) rookie RB.

Well, we got the best player on our team the last time we picked 6th. Let's do it again. Well, the time they picked sixth before that, they drafted one of the biggest busts in franchise (and possibly NFL) history. No such thing as a positive trend in terms of the history of this team.

So who's paying O line next year if Clady, Breno, and Mangold are gone? This is what the depth chart looks like without them? LT Ben Ijalana Brandon Shell LG Dakota Dozier Craig Watts C Wesley Johnson RG Brian Winters RT Brent Qvale Donald Hawkins I'm not saying they should not be cut for salary cap savings, but c'mon, you can't just gut the O-line without a plan. The Jets would have to seriously overpay an O lineman to come to the Jets, and the draft can not plug that many holes. In a word, the O line outlook is disastrous. In the initial post, he had Carpenter staying, but your point still relevant. Clady being a complete fail only adds to the point, as you can only say (loosely) that the Jets are "set" at guard. Let's hope Johnson or another young guy plays well enough to hold down C, then the Jets can replace the two tackle positions in the offseason (presumably one through FA and one through the draft).

When does the season reach that stage? Halftime against Buffalo when we are 3-12 or 4-11? I wish I could be a beat reporter. How about these questions for Bowles: "Do you honestly believe the team has a shot at making the playoffs right now?" or "In your mind, at what point does the season reach the stage when you play younger players?" I would love to hear Bowles answer those 2 questions. "Do you honestly believe the team has a shot at making the playoffs right now?" Bowles: Until we're mathematically eliminated, of course I do. "In your mind, at what point does the season reach the stage when you play younger players?" Bowles: We'll look at that when the time comes - we're not there yet, but we would evaluate that at the appropriate time. He might even throw in "it's a process" for good measure, just to fuck with us.

Nah. Fitz gets hurt on the first play and Petty comes in. Petty plays great putting up 34 points but the Browns and Hogan hang 35 on our defense. Petty looks sharp and we lose thus helping our draft position in a lost year. Win/Win. It also would put another nail in Bowles coffin. Rooting for a loss to improve draft position = Pathetic excuse for a fan. You are simply NOT a TRUE Jet fan. Since this seems to be a difficult concept for you to grasp, let's try it this way: if you knew how both players would turn out in advance, would you want the Jets to go 3-13 and draft Peyton Manning? Or go 4-12 by winning a meaningless game and draft Ryan Leaf? If you answered 3-13, you should see why some people are focused on draft position in an already lost season. If you answered 4-12, then you need to STFU when grown folks are talking because this shit is above your pay grade.

Not mine. I'm renergized by the thought of a rebuild. For realz. Then you have chosen the perfect team to follow.

Romo in 2017, get on the bus. This is a team that would make that move. Already dreading it.

My point all along, not that I love Geno, that you can get the same production for peanuts. (Granted, so did I but...) SUCK IT FITZ LOVERS. SUCK HIS GNARLY BEARDED NUTS WHILE HE COUNTS HIS $12M!I wish I could like this post twice. Some people actually wanted that fucker in here, like he was going to do something. Jets are probably 1-5 with Geno also, but they're 1-5 with cap space and hopefully a couple of better players on the roster as well.

Exactly. $12M for 5 out of 6 shitty games. That's called stealing where I come from. $12M. They paid this fucking guy $12M. Edit: I screwed up quoting the picture, but you get it.

Better late than never. The only thing worse than a mistake is compounding it by refusing to recognize it.
Bowles has a much better chance of saving his job by winning a few games with one of the backups (especially if Petty plays and shows promise) than he does riding it out with Fitz and hoping for 6 wins.
